Shaken, not stirred......

7:18 am - Sunday - September 27th - Seal Rock, OR - 52° F, 94% humidity, wind 7 mph out of the east.....clear, cool, blue skies this morning with a forecast high today of 65° F.  On this date in 2017 we visited Canyon Falls in Yellowstone for the first time......breath taking.....↴

After one rainy day following another for almost a week we finally came out the other side Saturday to a promised week of mostly sunny days.  Having spent most of those days inside our home reading it was time to get outside and do a little more exploring.  Between Seal Rock and Walport there is a beach with the name of 'Driftwood', so we headed there hoping to find just that......

....we took our first foot usie (we got that from Rich and Marnie) at the first shell we found.....

....whenever we are walking on the beach we are right in the middle of our happy place......

......ahhhh.....there it is.....driftwood.....yay........

.....there something so appealing about a fog shrouded beach.....

.....this will definitely be a beach to which we will return again and again.  Next up was some junking time in Waldport.  There are two very interesting antique stores located in Waldport in the same block so we parked the car and went to check them out.  We've been looking for a cocktail shaker for quite a while now, and we finally found one we liked......

.....the store (Enough) was having a 50% off sale so we go this one for $12.  By this time we decided we needed a cup of coffee so we headed across the street to Espresso 101......

.....for an Americano (moi), and a Breve (TLE).....this drive through also has a walkup window, and a few tables for those bipeds who wish to tarry a while and enjoy their selections.  From this vantage point one is able to see both ends of the town.....

......directly across the street in the parking lot of Hi School Pharmacy (don't ask....I have no idea) there was a car show in full swing so after finishing our brews we headed there next........

Nash Metro

VW panel conversion replete with Porsche hubcaps.....lol

Vintage Ford and Chevy pickups

Beautiful '65 T-bird with white pearl essence paint

.....by the time we finished our grocery shopping at Ray's it was pushing 2:30 pm so we headed for home.  It wasn't long until it was time for Happy Hour, and what better occasion than this to inaugurate our new cocktail shaker with some shaken, not stirred, Margaritas.....

.....and to  finish off the day we were blessed with a beautiful, cloudless (almost) sunset where we could watch the sun all the way to the horizon, and below.....

.....as we walked back across US-101 we caught the moon rising.....a little over halfway to a full moon.....

......I could not have asked for a better Saturday!

  1. Awesome to hear that life is treating you both well.Think you have just the right tepo for this winter...... Enjoyment of the Oregon coast, a little work and plenty of time for relaxing and adventuring pretty much on your home terms. Not bad real estate for 16 hours a week 😁😁
