7:23 am - Friday - November 21st - TWW - 39° F, humidity 70%, wind 6 mph out of the east by southeast......heavy cloud cover, again, today with a forecast high of 47° F. On this date in 2013 TLE and I were having lunch at Rubio's Coastal Grill....
.....a West Coast chain which serves some of the best fish tacos anywhere in the USA, except for Tony's Crab Shack in Bandon, OR.....those fish tacos are in a class all by themselves.
Charles and Phyllis were on the road back to Phoenix sometime after 7 am Thursday, and once again TLE and I were all by ourselves. It was a cold, still cloudy, and damp morning after two days of rain, so I didn't get dressed to do any work until around 9:30 am. I had a lot of small things to accomplish on this day:
1 - Get the Explorer off the jack stands, and tighten the lug nuts (Charles had put on the new tires before he and Phyllis left)
2 - Sweep the rain water out of the garage, and off the driveway
3 - Air up the tires on our three bikes
4 - Use the drill press to drill a couple of holes in a piece of metal
5 - Move the Sea-B-Que and its table to a more level spot next to the trailer
6 - Attach a 5 gallon propane tank to the Char Broil BBQ Charles and Phyllis had brought up to TWW last summer
7 - Fix the rear windshield wiper on the back window of the Explorer
8 - Reattach the grill which protects the radiator on the Ford tractor
9 - Pour in some 'Stop Leak' into the tractor radiator, and refill it with coolant
10 - Run the tractor for 15 minutes to allow the 'Stop Leak' to do its job, and it did
11 - Put a battery charger on the Champion 7,500 watt, dual phase generator so I can get it running again as we need it from time to time
....I'm sure there was more (there always is), but by the time I was done it was closing in on 3 pm, and I was tired. It's all those little jobs that can eat up the time in the day, and sometimes it's a good idea to list them all to see how much you really got done, and that was a lot of small things. After taking off my work clothes I hopped into the shower to take a hot, but not too long shower, then put on my pajamas, and took a nice nap in the recliner.
We did actually get some sun Thursday, and for a few hours it was pleasant enough for me to remove my jacket, but by 2 pm it was getting cloudy, and cold again, so I had to put on the jacket again. The forecast for Friday and Saturday is heavy cloud cover with some rain Friday morning. We won't have sun again until Sunday, but then it looks good through the first of December....are we already talking about December? How many of you began seeing Christmas ads on TV a few weeks ago? I saw one before Halloween....that is way too early!
While I was otherwise occupied TLE ran several loads of wash through the washer and dryer in the house. I cannot tell you how nice it is not to have to take our clothes into Seligman to wash/dry them in a laundromat! She was also preparing a potato/leek soup (from scratch) for dinner, which turned out fabulously.....no one makes a better winter soup than TLE!
Thanks for stopping by!
