On the town.....

7:51 pm - Tuesday - August 6th - Ramona, CA - 76° F, 62% humidity, wind 9 mph out of the west.....sunset.....high today was 94° F.

We were off work again Tuesday as I had a residual doctor appointment made when we were still off on Monday's and Tuesday's.  When I had my surgery back in late February to remove the cyst from my right cheek saliva gland the surgeon also removed a growth from my right ear.  It turned out it was basil cell carcinoma.  Dr. Trittle removed what he thought was most all of it, but he recommended I see a dermatologist and have MOHS surgery (micro surgery) to be sure it is all gone, but without taking too much of my ear.  I had a referral at the time I had my heart attack, so it got put on hold, obviously.

I met with Dr. Jou (pronounced Joe) Tuesday morning at 9:30 am.  Since I did not have my doctor records with me he took a biopsy of my ear, as well as two other spots on my body with which he was concerned.  He also 'froze' a few spots on my arms to take care of some pre-cancerous spots.  I'll know within two weeks the status of my ear, and the other two spots.  If the basil cell carcinoma is still in my ear he will refer me for MOHS surgery at that time.

We were out by 10 am, and on our way over to Angelika Film Center and Cafe to see the new Quentin Tarantino movie entitled "Once upon a time in Hollywood".  IMDB gives the movie 4 stars on 43,000 reviews....we would be at 4.5, it was that good.  I'll not give away the plot, or story line of the movie except to say it is set in 1969 Hollywood.  It is almost 3 hours in length, but it did not seem that long.  We were both captivated with the story, and if you like Quentin Tarantino you will definitely like his latest offering!

We were out of the movie by 1:30 pm, and driving over to Stone Brewing Company in Escondido, CA for some brews and a late lunch (solid 4 stars on 4511 reviews - Yelp)......

....we opted to sit at the bar where we immediately ordered a flight of brews (Tropic Thunder Lager - 5.8%ABV, Stone Ripper Ale - 5.7% ABV, Stone Tangerine Express IPA - 6.7% ABV, and Stone IPA - 6.9% ABV), and one of their 'share appetiziers' called Black & Bleu (beef tenderloin tips in this wonderful bordelaise sauce).   I liked the lager, and TLE liked the Stone IPA, however, wanting to try another beer I ordered a pint of their Brown Ale, and TLE Bourbon Barrel Arrogant Bastard Ale......

Can you see the alfresco dinning area in the background?

.....we loved the ambiance, and the open feel to the facility.  There is a very large alfresco dining area, which we will try another time, perhaps in the Fall when it is cooler.  All that being say, we loved our experience there, and would definitely give them 4 to 4.5 stars.....

OMG.....sooo good!

.....by the time we finished it was almost 3 pm, and time to head to COSTCO to pick up a prescription, and buy a few items.  From COSTCO we headed to TJ's to pick up a few more things, and were home a little before 5 pm.  What a perfect day in every respect.

We returned home to a hot interior, but cooled it down quickly using the front and rear A/C's for about an hour before turning off the A/C at 7:30 pm when it had cooled into the high 70's.

Thanks for stopping by!
