Benched.......

6:54 am - Friday - December 20th - Ramona, CA - 54° F, 25% humidity, wind 10 mph out of the east.....clear, blue skies this morning with a forecast high of 70° F.

Thursday was another project day for me.  I'm always looking for projects around RORVR, and for months now I have been driving my cart past the dam end of the pond where there are four wooden benches just like the one I refinished overlooking the creek a number of weeks ago.  These four benches are also in very poor condition, and need some attention.....

......I began working on the bench next to the path that leads down to the dam (pictured above).  Essentially, I worked on dismantling this bench, and then scraping the old paint off the wood the entire day.  I also cut about 2" off of one of he metal legs to make the bench level once again.  There are three more of these benches down on the dam, which I will get to eventually, but this first bench is visible directly from the road, and is seen by anyone coming in and out of RORVR.

I finished cleaning the wood planks down to the bare wood around 3:40 pm.  I put away my tools, plugged my 2-way radio into its charging station, and headed for home.  Thursday was also the day of the RORVR Christmas party being held this year at 5:30 pm at the El Michoacan, one of our all time favorite Mexican restaurants, in Ramona.

We left for the dinner around 5:15 pm arriving at the El Michoacan around 5:25 pm to find everyone already there.  We had a lovely dinner, and talked non-stop for 2 hours before we said Merry Christmas to each other and headed for home.....

Left to right: Moi, TLE, Alika, Mike (one of owners), Caroline, Larry (the other owner, and also punking Rich), Rich, Marnie and Jo (Dave, Jo's husband, is back in Florida visiting his ill father)

.....we watched episode 7 of the Mandalorian on the Disney Channel, then closed out the evening watching another Hallmark Christmas movie.....nothing like shedding a few tears before you head off to dreamland.
