Back to spring.....

7:44 am - Wednesday - August 19th - Seal Rock, OR - 43° F, 100% humidity, wind - zero mph out of the north......partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 52° F.  It rained all night just stopping a few minutes ago as the sun peaked out from behind the clouds.  On this date in 2012 we were visiting Craters of the Moon National Monument (near Arco, ID)......↴

Tuesday began with lots of sun, and ended that way, but the clouds on the western horizon which obscured any chance of a sunset shot portended overnight rain, but I get ahead of myself once again.  Fred's 3 day 'weekend' begins Tuesday, so I was on my own and spent my entire shift trimming hedges near the entrance to our park.  I finished four hedges over the 2.5 hours I worked......

....all the hard work we did during the winter at cutting all of our hedges way back has paid off.  Back then it took us an entire shift to do just one hedge, but now I can do four in the same period of time.  Once I had all the clippings raked, and put into the trailer I put away my tools, and headed for the barn.  I'll be back for round two on Wednesday.

On my way home I paid a brief visit to Fairwinds to see how the new deck was going, and found they still have a long way to go.....

....I would say they are about 20% done, and the guests arrive Wednesday....will they finish? We'll find out Wednesday morning.

After I got home I decided our entry step needed some Rustoleum love and care.  The legs have gotten quite rusty since September.  We've had this portable step since 2011, and it is still going strong after 10 years....amazing!

That was my one, and only project for the day, but it was nice to be outside in the afternoon without the cold, blustery north wind in the sun working on a personal project.  Yup, the north wind is gone, and the warmer breezes out of the southwest, and southeast have returned....it feels a little like spring once again.

We thought we were going to get a sunset, but a cloud bank moved up from the south, and completely obliterated the sunset....oh well!
