Time for 'The Masters'.....

7:01 am - Friday - April 11th - TWW - 52° F, humidity 25%, wind 6 mph out of the southeast.....partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 85° F.  On this date in 2019 I was awaiting my flight home from Sacramento, CA after spending two days with in-laws Glenn and Laureen inspecting a 1984 Newell Classic they were thinking of buying.....

.....which they bought!  It had been stored indoors for most of its life, and was in very good condition.  They drove it home to Austin, TX from the Sacramento area.  We were staying at the Elks Lodge in Fontana, CA at the time, and they stopped by for a couple of days to visit on their way home....

Both coaches together a few days later at the Fontana/Rialto
Elks Lodge where we were staying

Thursday was the first round of this years 'Masters Invitational' golf tournament played at Augusta National in Augusta, GA so TLE and I were up early watching.  Around 10 am we went over to the greenhouse to test fit a couple of the corrugated, polycarbonate roof panels.  It didn't take long, and here was the result....

....we also installed one section of ridge cap (you can see that in the 2nd and 3rd pictures), and the brown, plastic, horizontal closure strips (you can see them in the first and second pictures).  We just wanted to get an idea of how the assembly will work before we launch into full scale assembly.  It looks pretty straight forward, and I think it will not take a long time....at least compared to the extensive work we've done to get the wood framework ready for this step.

It was a warm day with temps in the mid 80's, so we spent most of our time indoors watching the first round of the 'Masters', but we decided to eat dinner outdoors at the picnic table in the middle of the circular driveway.  I grilled a New York steak on our Sea-B-Que to a perfect medium rare, and TLE added mashed potatoes as a side.  The New York was so, so tender.....

....the spot where Phyllis placed the table is in the shade 90% of the day, and always in the shade late afternoon....perfect!  For our night time entertainment TLE and I watched the current episodes of 'Survivor (Season 48), and 'Amazing Race', and were in bed b 10 pm.

Thanks for stopping by!
