Curtains.....

5:53 am - Saturday - May 17th - LPG&RVR - 47° F, humidity 66%, wind 17 mph out of the northwest.....heavy cloud cover with rain, lightning and thunder for most of the morning, and a forecast high of 56° F.  On this date in 2020 TLE and I were having lunch in Durango, CO with Glenn and Laureen during the Wuhan Flu.....we found one restaurant open offering takeout only.....

....so we ordered burgers, fries, and draft beer, then headed down the street to a lone table I had spotted when we were parking.....

This table actually belonged to Colorado Outback Adventures, for whom we worked at Glamis North during the winters of 2022/23 and 2023/24

....it was the first time we had been able to eat restaurant food at a table not our own since February.  Glenn and I had been able to get our first haircuts since late March at a Sports Clips earlier that day.

As I write today's missive it has been raining pretty hard for an hour and a half, and that should continue until almost noon time.  Along with the rain we are seeing flashes of lightning, and a lot of thunder.  I think this is the first time we've had a lightning/thunder storm here at LPG&RVR during the summer.  The sun has been 'up' since 5:45 am, but it looks like 9 pm at night right now.  I don't think much golf will be played this morning.

When we went shopping in Alturas Thursday one of the things we bought at ACE Hardware was a new shower curtain to cut down and cover the window in our shower.  I last replaced that window curtain 2, or 3 years ago.  The original curtain that came with the coach lasted over 40 years, so we bought a fabric curtain this time hoping for more longevity.  TLE cut it down, and hemmed the edges, then I attached the hardware....

....the last time I replaced the curtain I had ordered new hardware, and was glad I had it as the tabs on the old buckles showed signs of breaking.  I didn't expect to have to replace the curtain so quickly, but I'm glad I ordered them when I did.

My knee continues to improve, and as I write, it is feeling 100% better than it did on Wednesday.  Nevertheless, I continued the ice and heat treatment, and did some of the knee exercises I've been doing since last July.  Just enough to keep the knee loose.

After installing the new window curtain I spent about an hour in the trailer organizing the spare parts/fasteners I hang on the inside of the unused, side ramp door in the trailer so they are more visible and accessible.  Why?  Well, it took me a while to find the curtain hardware even though I knew it was there.  It was hanging behind some other stuff, and not visible.  Now pretty much everything on that wall can be easily seen, and accessed without moving a lot of other stuff.

When we were at Holiday Market Thursday we scored two top sirloin steaks at 1/2 price ($6.99) as they had 'aged' out, so TLE cut them up to make kabobs, which I grilled on the Sea-B-Que for dinner.  Aged meat is so, so tender!

We spent a lot of the afternoon watching The PGA.  The cream is beginning rise to the top on the leaderboard with Scottie Scheffler just 3 strokes off the lead now after two rounds.  Should be an interesting weekend of golf.

Thanks for stopping by!
