TVC - Day 5 - Paint it red!

TLE and I were out the door by 7:55 am and on our way over to the office for another 8 hour shift.  TLE has quickly settled back into her office duties, and began taking reservations almost as soon as she logged on to her computer station.  I headed out to do the early morning site checks, and was back in the office by 9 am.

Payroll for TVC* is handled by ADP, and this year we have a new system whereby each employee must log into ADP every two weeks to review their time card, and either approve the hours, our let our manager know there is a mistake so it can be fixed.  Duane (the manager) had me spend time with each employee as they came in the office showing them how to check their time card, and approve it.  By the time that was done it was time for me to do the second round of site checks.....this second round is to be sure those who are supposed to be 'departing' their site have done so.....it is not such a big deal right now as the park is relatively empty, but it needs to be done.  Upon return TLE and walked back to the coach for our 30 minute lunch.

When we returned Duane asked me to help Ed (maintenance supervisor) and a few others continue the re-staining of all the picnic tables in the park.....below is a typical example of a table that has gone too many years without a new coat of redwood stain......when Duane arrived here last summer just after the 4th of July there was a lot of deferred maintenance to deal with, and he has slowly milked everything out of his limited budget to catch up.  In my four hour afternoon shift I managed to put a new smile on about 10 of these tables....raw wood really sucks up the stain quickly!

The weather continues to be quite chilly here in SLT** with the high barely hitting 55 degrees Wednesday, and it looks like over the next week we will be getting much needed rain in the Tahoe Basin, but we'll see.....we found out last summer that most weather forecasts for South Lake Tahoe were wildly inaccurate.

TLE prepared carne asada tacos for our dinnerfare and we spent time catching up on some recorded TV shows that we were too busy earlier in the week to watch....several of them season finales.

We are off Thursday so we'll do a little exploring to see what has changed in SLT**......we hear there is a new micro brewery to check out.......

Thanks for stopping by!
