A vague ennui......

7:43 am - Sunday - June 20th - Seal Rock, OR - 54° F, 100% humidity, wind 5 mph out of the north by northwest......heavy marine layer this morning with a forecast high today of 64° F.  On this date in 2017 TLE and I began our first day of exploration of Yellowstone NP.....↴

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

Tower Falls - YNP

Saturday was another north wind day, and even though the forecast indicated a possible high of 61° F, it felt much cooler than that.  The wind got into the high teens at times making outdoor activities undesirable.   Of course, we had round three of the U.S. Open with which to pass the time, and it was a good day of golf with a lot of former champions moving their way up the leaderboard promising to make Sunday a very interesting day.

We now have just over 3 months remaining on our contract here at Seal Rocks RV Cove, and while we are both thoroughly enjoying our stay here, we are beginning to get what they call "hitch itch"....a desire to hitch up the trailer and head for the next horizon.  There is nothing like being able to change your view without going through escrow.  As I look for a picture each day showing where we were on this date in any particular year in which we have been living this nomadic existence I get a vague sense of ennui....I feel restless....plain and simple.  I know in my heart I will have to redouble my efforts to remain mentally engaged where I am, and make the most of the time remaining.  I know when we get to those last few sunsets here on the Oregon Coast that I will begin to feel regret that we are leaving.  It is that dynamic tension between living in the moment, and finding out what is over the next horizon I have come to love, and appreciate over the past decade of travel.  The memories of all the places we have visited, and people we have had the honor of getting to know are as thick as blackberries in the Fall.

By 5:30 pm the third round of the U.S. Open had finished, and within a few hours we were treated to another memorable Coastal Oregon sunset......

.....thanks for stopping by!
