6:05 am - Monday - May 25th - LPG&RVR - 49° F, humidity 36%, cloud cover 27%, wind 9 mph out of the north by northwest.....partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 79° F. On this date in 2020 TLE and I had just arrived in Meeker, CO.....
....at their cool park which offers 50 amp electricity, a dump station, and fresh water, right on the White River....probably one of our all time favorite places to spend a few days. I think it was about $25/night. And on this Monday, 5/25/2026, our humble little blog just surpassed 4 million all time views....
....and for the first time ever, our monthly views have surpassed 200,000 with a week to go in the month! We've been averaging over 8,000 views a day.
On the final morning of our four day 'weekend' we slept in until after 7:30 am. It promised to be another beautiful day here at LPG&RVR with a daytime high of around 80° F at 4 pm....mostly clear skies, and balmy breezes all day long. I spent about an hour first thing cutting and fitting a piece of green Sunbrella fabric to the underside of our patio awning where the little wheel which sits atop our entry door runs its small arc along the fabric each time the door is opened to protect it from the sharp edge of the door. That little wheel has done its job for over 44 years, but over that time it began to wear a pattern into the Sunbrella fabric of the patio awning, and was threatening to go completely through....
....over the years I have patched a few of the worst places with fabric samples provided by Zip Dee Awnings many years ago, but I ran out of the swatches recently, so had to buy some Sunbrella off Amazon. I used cardboard to make the arcing pattern, which I traced onto the fabric, then cut, and affixed it to the underside of the awning with clear GE silicone caulk.
That was the extent of any work I did Sunday. I spent the rest of the day ensconced in my anti gravity chair enjoying the CJ Cup Byron Nelson Tournament. Mid afternoon I watched a chipmunk (much smaller than a squirrel) exploring our 'lido deck'....
....I was in the full recline position at the time, and this little guy jumped over 15" onto the top of my right foot....well, that was a surprise.....lol!!
I can't get over how beautiful TLE's flowers are this summer.....the poppies are just exploding....
.....the latest PGA tournament was close until the last 3 holes when Wyndham Clark pulled away from the field winning by 5 strokes over Scotties Scheffler, who was the defending champion. Until then he was consistently one, or two strokes behind. Wyndham posted an 11 under par score of 60 in the final round, while Scottie managed a 65, which is not anything at which to sneeze.
And with that another LPG&RVR day came to a delightful end. Time to begin another four day work cycle (Monday through Thursday this week). Thanks for stopping by!
