8:17 am - Sunday - May 24th - LPG&RVR - 60° F, humidity 28%, cloud cover 30%, wind 2 mph out of the west......partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 81° F. On this date in 2020 TLE and I were touring Colorado National Monument.....
.....located between Grand Junction and Fruita, Colorado. This tour was recommended by Rich and Marnie Aaron, our managers during our 9 month stay at Ramona Oaks RV Resort. It was a great recommendation! We were staying a few days at the Elks Lodge in Grand Junction as we continued our tour of rural America during the summer of the Wuhan Flu.
I was wide awake at 6 am, so I decided not to fight it and just get up. TLE, on the other hand, slept until 7 am. While the daily temps have been in the low 80's the past few days, which is fine with us....we're not working....lol. When we return to work Monday to begin our next 4 day work week they will fall again into the 50's and 60's with a 50+% chance of rain Tuesday and Wednesday, so the topsy turvy weather typical here in May in northeastern California continues. Ironically, contrary to the forecast, it rained Saturday afternoon for about 30 minutes....did not see that coming.
Frankly, I didn't do much Saturday except giving my anti zero gravity chair a workout while watching round three of the Byron Nelson tournament in West Texas. The day ended with Scottie Scheffler in 2nd place at 19 under par, just two strokes behind the leader.
TLE and I headed over to the Clubhouse for the weekly putting contest around 3:50 pm Tragically, I did not make it out of the first round. For the 5th time in the last 4 weeks I found myself in a one hole putt off (closest to the hole) after being tied at the end of 5 holes. For the fourth time I lost that putt off.....doh! I'm putting pretty well, but continually find myself tied after 5 holes, falling one putt short of advancing to the next round.
I was just commenting to TLE a few minutes ago that we have not even been here at month (we arrived April 27th), but it seems like longer.....not in a bad way, I assure you. We love being here, we love the people, and we love our site.
Thanks for stopping by!
