Truth be told I was not ready to move Monday, but that was the day we had decided we must start moving toward Washington D.C. if we hoped to have enough time to see everything we wished before we start our trek westward to Indianapolis. I still had a little nausea, and still wasn't back to normal.....whatever that may look like. Sometimes you just bite the bullet and get moving, and that is just what we did. Around 11 am we edged out of the pull through spot we had occupied these past 11 days.-64
We ran eastward on I-64 for about 35 miles to Charleston partially retracing our drive of 11 days prior when we were westbound on the same Interstate. The skies were shrouded in heavy cloud cover, but there was no rain.
In Charleston we transitioned from I-64 to I-79 northbound toward Morgantown. This stretch of Interstate was marginal in quality, but not as bad as that combined section of I-64/I-77 we drove on 11 days ago. It was also up and down, and very curvy. Around the 100 mile mark of our day we found a rest stop, and that is exactly what I did....REST. I took a 40 minute nap......see, I told you.....I'm not quite back yet. Usually I spend our rest stop time checking the tires, taking a walk, but the only thing on my mind was to take a nap.
The last 45 miles passed quickly as we came to Weston, WV our destination for the day. TLE had found a small Walmart where we planned to overnight this day. The Walmart in Weston is not a "super" Walmart, but it does have an adequate grocery section, and we did need to pick up some of the basics...half and half, butter, etc. Since this Walmart was not a "Super" Walmart it actually closed at 10 pm for the night. That made for a very quiet night of sleep.
After getting our rig leveled we got dressed and walked into Walmart to do our shopping.
After the shopping expedition I got comfortable and took a 90 minute nap before dinner. Good thing I'm not tired......:D
After dinner we watched a couple of recorded shows (Amazing Race and the Mentalist). Not long after that we were in bed headed for slumberland once again.
Tuesday we will enter the great state of Maryland for the first time in our lives.
Thanks for stopping by!
