For our Wednesay walk/hike we opted for Mt. Rubidoux once again......we had to park further away from the trailhead than usual as there were so many people walking the trail to the summit. To change things up we reversed our usual route hiking the steeper section first (counterclockwise)......
We covered 3.5 miles in just 59 minutes 11 seconds averaging 3.6 miles per hour.....our fastest average yet.....we burned 650 calories. We were walking so fast we didn't even stop to take pictures, but take it from me, the skies were deep blue, very few clouds, and you could see forever.
We were back home before noontime......TLE did some wash.....I read.....and that was our afternoon.
I don't normally advertise here, but thought I would mention for any fulltime RVers out there that are looking for a summer job that Tahoe Valley Campground (6,300' elevation) is looking for summer employees. As you know, we have worked there the the past two summers and have just loved it! We are returning for our third summer this May. They need people from May 1st to September 15th, but will accept shorter commitments. You get paid for every hour you work ($10/hour). The campground is owned by Equity Lifestyles, Inc. which owns Encore Resorts and Thousand Trails. If each spouse/partner works a minimum of 32 hours per week your site is free. If you are not concerned about having your site completely paid for you can work as little as 24 hours per week per spouse/partner and get half your site paid. If you are a single you can get half your site paid for by working 32 hours minimum per week. They do pay overtime after 8 hours in a single day, and after 40 hours in a given week. The campground is located in South Lake Tahoe near the intersection of Lake Tahoe Blvd., and Hwy 50. The local supermarket is 10 minutes away walking, and 2 minutes driving. Many excellent restaurants within walking distance. Stateline, where the casinos are, is just 10-12 minutes away via car. Each site provides full hookups with 20, 30 and 50 amp electric service, as well as cable TV. The jobs available are: maintenance, day ranger, night ranger, office, janitorial, etc. If you are interested contact me by leaving a message on the blog with your e-mail address.
