Smoooooothie.......

6:08 am - Wednesday - 35º F, 87% humidity, wind - CALM.......clear blue skies.......forecast high is 68º F........slept like the dead last night.  Looks like it is going to be another gorgeous SLT day!

Hard to believe we have been in SLT at TVC for over two weeks now.....so much has happened and been accomplished.  I had my entire 'Ranger Crew' on duty Tuesday with the goal of getting Section E cleaned and raked by day's end and we came pretty doggone close!  The pool guys arrived late morning to acid wash the  plaster, and by day's end the pool was filling.  The office/store/laundry/pool/horseshoe pit area is cleaned and raked.  We essentially have Section's A & F left to clean and rake before May 26th.  A few big projects (erect the tent, build the Group Area fence, build the second Group Area fire pit, clear all the interior roads of debris) remain, but it looks as if we will get them done over the next 2.5 weeks with time to spare.

I spent the better part of the afternoon repairing some interior fencing, specifically in the Dog Park.  Last October I created the Dog Park by fencing off an unused corner of our property so dogs can run free of leash.  There were a couple of large holes created over the winter by roaming bears, and two others of the human variety.  There is a little more cleanup work to do, but it is pretty much ready for use once again.

Another big milestone occurring Tuesday was the arrival of our 5 golf carts which have been in storage down in Carson City all winter giving us a total of 8 golf carts now.  They will be greatly appreciated by our new workers who have been, without complaint, walking everywhere while I ferry tools and equipment to them.  Almost all of the winter snow has now melted.....there are just a couple of smallish piles left now and I would think by the weekend they will be all but gone......it is beginning to look more like Spring now.

Physically I'm getting acclimated to the altitude and physical work, and no longer feel like I have been 'drug through a knothole backwards' at the end of the work day.  TLE is getting the office staff trained, and things are running smoothly.  It looks like I'll be working 40 hours per week for the first few weeks until things are running smoothly, and I'm okay with that, but I am looking forward to scaling back to 4 days per week with three off each week.

Thanks for stopping by!
