The final cut......

7:49 am - Tuesday - April 9th - Fontana, CA -  61° F, 66% humidity, wind - CALM, but it will get up to 20 mph this afternoon....time to stow the patio awning!  Heading to the airport in a couple of hours to fly to Sacramento to meet my brother and sister-in-law to go an inspect the 1984 Newell they want to buy.  Hope all goes well with the inspection!

We finally caved Monday and turned on the A/C around 11 am.  We had headed out for a walk around 10 am, and it was already so warm we only walked 2.2 miles before returning home and turning on the aforementioned A/C.   It remained in the 'ON' position until almost 7:30 pm when it had cooled sufficiently to open the windows and enjoy the early evening coolness.

Monday was the first really warm day we have experienced since October when we arrived in Campbellsville, KY for our Amazon gig.  Since then, no matter our location, it has been mostly cold and/or cool.  We are slowly acclimatizing to the warmer weather here in SoCal, but when certain warmer temperature thresholds (90° F in this case) are surpassed the only option is A/C, and we are both forever grateful our A/C's (37 years old) still work very, very well.

The only thing I did all day of any note was to drive to the local Supercuts and get my ears lowered.  The last haircut I received was in Surprise, AZ on February 14th....it's pretty rare I go that long between haircuts, but after my cheek surgery on February 25th I decided not to get another haircut until everything in that area had healed sufficiently, and now it is.

And that was our Monday, except we did watch the March Madness NCAA final between Texas Tech and Virginia. We were rooting for Texas, but alas it was not to be.  They led the game with under 2 minutes to go in overtime by 3 points, but did not score another point and lost by 8.   The game did fulfill my one requirement for championship games.....it was close until the very end, and that is really all for which one could ask.

Time to finish packing my suitcase and get to the airport.....thanks for stopping by!
