North to Medford.....

5:45 pm - Saturday - October 7th - Medford, OR - 86° F, humidity 28%, wind 8 mph out of the west by northwest....clear, blue skies with a forecast high of 86° F....a tad warmer than LPG&RVR.  On this date in 2018 TLE and I were dining at the top of the World Trade Center at the One Dine Restaurant on the 101st floor......we both had the Salmon.....amazing.....↴

In spite of being able to sleep in Saturday morning we were up around 6:30 am.  I'm sure the anticipation of our trip to Deer Lodge, MT had something to do with that....hmmm?  While I tried to string a few words together for my daily post we watched the entire British Premier League match between Tottenham and Luton Town.  Tottenham scored the lone goal  of the game in the 52nd minute, and that would be enough to garner another 3 points, and move them into first place.  Tottenham remains undefeated this year.

Once my post was finished I headed out to dump our black tank for the final time this season.  That didn't take too long, but then I decided to detach the sewer line, clean the 4 lengths it took to reach the sewer connection, and set them out to dry.  Next up TLE helped me stow the patio awning for the first time in over 3 months.  Since we won't be around for 5+ days I also turned off the water.  All that now remains is to disconnect the water hose, and the electric so we can drop the trailer on the hitch and follow those geese southward in a little less than a week.

We left home around 11:30 am to make the 188 mile, 3.25 hour drive to Medford which took us through Klamath Falls where we picked up Highway 140 for the final 70 miles to Medford.  The entire drive was beautiful as always, was without incident, and had us arriving at our hotel around 2:45 pm.  After checking into our room we headed to the local COSTCO (4 blocks away) where we fueled up the VW for the return trip next Thursday, and then we bought a few things to take back to LPG&RVR on our return trip.  Premium gas was $5.34/gallon in Alturas, but only $4.39 here in Medford, for which we were thankful.  It bothers me that we have become accustomed to gasoline over $5/gallon, or even just over $4/gallon....just under 3 years ago it was under $2/gallon.   Diesel in Alturas is over $7/gallon. Of course, we all know why it has risen so high.

After our COSTCO run we stopped off at a Mexican food truck about 2 blocks from the hotel to have some carne asada street tacos before heading back to the hotel for the night.  Our flight departs at 6 am tomorrow morning, which means we will be up at 3:30 am in order to catch the shuttle at 4:30 am over to the airport, which is just 5 minutes away....in fact we can see the control tower from our room....

....and with that I will bid you adieu until tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by!
