'Punch' drunk - day three

7:07 am - Saturday - October 7th - LPG&RVR - 47° F, humidity 63%, wind 2 mph out of the southeast......crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 82° F.  On this date in 2018 TLE and I were dining atop the World Trader Center (One Dine) in Manhattan, NY.....↴

I arrived at the Clubhouse around 7:40 am to stage golf carts for TLE, and then awaited news on when we would begin our third day of 'punching' greens.  Dennis Tate, the owner, drove up a few minutes later and advised we were only going to do three greens (11, 10 & the putting green) Friday so the front 9 would still be available customers to play through Sunday, which is our closing day.  Well, that was good news!  We had already punched the 11th green, so all we had to do was 'punch' the 10th and then the putting green and we would be done for the week, and I would be done period....lol.

TLE came out of the Clubhouse office when we began working on the putting green to take the following pictures......

The putting green has just been 'sanded'

Scraping the excess sand off the putting green....almost done

.....we were not able to scrape the excess sand off #'s 11 and 10 until around 1 pm as they are mostly in the shade, and the sand had not dried yet.  We took an early lunch at 11 am, and did not go back to work until 1 pm for the aforementioned reason.

It was a nice 2 hour interlude, and a nice way to end our season here at LPG&RVR.  We finished the final green (putting) around 3:15 pm, and that was it.  We (Mower Mike, Young Mike, Walt, DeWayne and I) retreated to the Clubhouse deck and drank a few beers to celebrate getting 10 greens done in 3 days.  Only 10 (1 through 9, and the sod farm) to go, but I will not be here to see them finished.

After finishing our brews I put away 6 golf carts, and that was it.....time to head south, but not before heading north for a few days to visit my sister, and brother-in-law.  We're off to Medford in a few hours.  I will try to post about Saturday's happenings after we check into our hotel in Medford this afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by!
