6:10 pm - Tuesday - August 12th - LPG&RVR - 93° F, humidity 39%, wind 12 mph out of the west......partially cloudy today with a forecast high (now past) of 98° F. On this date in 2017 TLE and I were running our portable fireplace in the Newell to warm up the coach first thing in the morning at Yellowstone National Park.....
....the summer season is quite short at Yellowstone, and within a couple of weeks we had snow on the ground.
Our first flight of the day out of Ontario International Airport was scheduled for 1:25 pm, so we did not have to rush around first thing Monday morning. We were up just before 7 am, and by 9 am we were checking out of the hotel, topping off our rental car fuel tank, and heading over to Sharon and Rod's home to visit with Caleb Jett, and his parents and sibling. By the way we used just over 2 gallons of unleaded gas in the Nissan Altima driving around Rancho Cucamonga for parts of three days....
We actually boarded early, and took off early. The 146 passenger place only had 75 passengers, so we were all able to spread out quite a bit. We landed 30 minutes early (10:30 pm), and were in the VW heading for home shortly there after arriving home around 1:20 am Tuesday morning. As I write I have taken two naps today, and spent most of the day recuperating from another whirlwind weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!
