The flight home.....

6:10 pm - Tuesday - August 12th - LPG&RVR - 93° F, humidity 39%, wind 12 mph out of the west......partially cloudy today with a forecast high (now past) of 98° F.  On this date in 2017 TLE and I were running our portable fireplace in the Newell to warm up the coach first thing in the morning at Yellowstone National Park.....

....the summer season is quite short at Yellowstone, and within a couple of weeks we had snow on the ground.

Our first flight of the day out of Ontario International Airport was scheduled for 1:25 pm, so we did not have to rush around first thing Monday morning.  We were up just before 7 am, and by 9 am we were checking out of the hotel, topping off our rental car fuel tank, and heading over to Sharon and Rod's home to visit with Caleb Jett, and his parents and sibling.  By the way we used just over 2 gallons of unleaded gas in the Nissan Altima driving around Rancho Cucamonga for parts of three days....

......by the time we returned to car to Fox Rentals, and were shuttled back to the airport it was around 11 am.  By the time we got through TSA Pre Check, and reached Gate 403 in was after 11:30 am, so we had around 2 hours to relax before boarding began....

....we spent around and hour and a half visiting with everyone, and then were on our way to the airport to return the car, and go through security.

We boarded the flight right on time, and by 4 pm Denver time we had landed, and were looking for a restaurant at which to each dinner.  By the time we had located our departure gate, and found a restaurant an hour had passed.  We ate at a place called Smash Burger, and we ordered what else?  A Smash Burger with bacon......

....I chased my burger with Pale Ale....the burger and fries were delicious!  After finishing dinner it was still only 6:30 pm, and we still had over 3 hours away from out 9:45 pm departure.  I took a nap, then read a book, went to the bathroom several times, and bought a Mocha Frappuccino to pass the time.

We actually boarded early, and took off early.  The 146 passenger place only had 75 passengers, so we were all able to spread out quite a bit.  We landed 30 minutes early (10:30 pm), and were in the VW heading for home shortly there after arriving home around 1:20 am Tuesday morning.  As I write I have taken two naps today, and spent most of the day recuperating from another whirlwind weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!
