Renewed confidence......

8:08 am - Wednesday - August 23rd - LPG&RVR - 56° F, humidity 70%, wind 1 mph out of the southeast......crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 81° F.  On this date in 2016 TLE and I were enjoying real fire in our site at Tahoe Valley Campground......↴

After a long day of rain Monday, we awoke to heavy, leaden clouds again.  I looked like it was going to rain, but the forecast said otherwise.  Charles and I were planning to play 18 holes beginning at 10 am, but by 9 am it was still looking ominous.  I decided to stick with the plan, and did my stretching exercises for my lower back.  By 9:40 am the cloud cover began to break, and by 10 am we had partly cloudy conditions, and sun.

The girls had things to do, but said they would catch up with us somewhere on the front 9.  After my poor play last Thursday I teed off at the first hole wondering how the round would go.  I managed bogeys on holes one, and two, and then got a par on the par 3 third hole.  For the first time this season I managed to land my first shot on the green not far from the hole.....

.....I managed another par the par 3 5th hole, and the girls caught up with us on 6th fairway......

.....Charles and I took our time, and by the time we finished it was 3 pm.  Having the girls with us made it even more fun.  They are both good at spotting our balls in flight, and were a great help when we got into the rough on rare occasions.  As bad as my game was last Thursday it was the complete opposite on Tuesday.  By the 17th hole my lower back was beginning to tighten up, but I still managed to hit decent drives, and short irons.  My chipping around the green was very consistent, and I my confidence was back.  After putting away our clubs, Charles and I joined TLE and Phyllis on the Clubhouse deck to enjoy the late afternoon with 4 Bloody Marys.....a nice way to end a great day of golfing.

Back home I took a long, hot shower which was good for my lower back, and then took a couple of Tylenols to loosen things up further.  I took a nap, and by 5:30 pm we were walking over to Charles and Phyllis' 5th wheel for another home cooked meal.  On this night TLE prepared her famous cheesy Cajun grits with shrimp and sausage.....so, so good!

Charles and Phyllis will be here two more days, and I'm hoping to play another two more rounds (total of 36 holes) with Charles on Wednesday and Thursday.

Thanks for stopping by!
