7:50 am - Saturday - November 15th - Jurupa Valley, CA - 61° F, humidity 89%, wind 6 mph out of the east.....heavy cloud cover, raining today with a forecast high of 63° F. On this date in 2017 TLE and I were off work and taking in the local views of the Grand Canyon....
TLE and I slept in until well after 7 am in the travel trailer Nick and Kate provided for our four day stay here in SoCal. Mid morning our son Tim arrived, and we were able to spend some quality time with him catching up on his life, and that of his family in Georgia....
.....they have a nice backyard, mostly paved, with a nice view of the 8th fairway.
We spent a big portion of the day visiting with family and friends who dropped by to say 'HI'. My daughter, Meredith, arrived from Hawaii on a 'red eye' flight around 9 am. She is spending a year in Hawaii working for her company, but wanted to be here to see Tim, too. I took a few breaks throughout the day, but had a great time. Whenever our family gets together the noise level goes up significantly. There are always 3, or 4 conversations underway simultaneously. When you, like TLE and I, spend most of your time with no one around, and only the sounds of nature, and our voices, it is a little jarring to be thrust, overnight, into settings where there are dozens of adults, and children talking. It takes us a while to acclimate to the noise level.
Late in the afternoon my daughter, Sharon, arrived with her husband (Rod), and their two boys Brayden and Caleb. As you will recall, Caleb was born just 3 months ago, and we flew down from LPGR&VR to meet our 10th grandchild. Around 6 pm my oldest grand daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Daniel, arrived with their two boys (great grandkids - Daniel and Jameson) and the chaos was complete....lol. Cynthia is our oldest grand child at 32 years of age, so our grandkids range in age from 3 months to 32 years
TLE and I retired to the quiet confines of the travel trailer around 7 pm, and were in bed a little after 9 pm. Saturday is the wedding where we will spend time with many of our kids friends, whom we haven't seen in a few years, and celebrate the wedding nuptials of Tim's long time friend, Mike Fulton.
Thanks for stopping by!
