In with the new, out with the old.....

7:12 am - Tuesday - September 29th - Seal Rock, OR - 64° F, 49% humidity, wind 9 mph out of the east.....clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 80° F......that's the first 80° day we've had in a long while, and probably the last we will see for a long time.  On this date in 2013 we had just arrived at the Richalnd County Fairgrounds in Sidney, MT to work the Beet Harvest.....our first sunset.......↴

Monday Terry and I were going to trim some more hedges, but an important part on the pole hedge trimmer went missing, and we had to move onto the next item on the 'to do' list.....remove the old indoor/outdoor carpeting from the concrete apron in front of the restrooms.  We've been kind of avoiding it since I got here as we believed it would be difficult, but now we had to face up to it and get it done.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it was difficult, and took us most of what remained of my two hour shift to complete.  The next step will be to clean the old glue off the concrete apron which will involve the use of some sort of pole scraper....I'm not looking forward to that either!

Anyway, I was on my way home at 12 Noon, and within 20 minutes had the screen door on the Newell entrance deployed, and one of the anti gravity chairs set up on the 'Lido Deck' so I could spend sometime outside for the first time in a few weeks reading, and relaxing.  The weather was absolutely spectacular.......

.....TLE worked 4 hours Monday, and was home just after 2 pm.  A short time later Tina Brown, the owner of Seal Rocks RV Cove along with her husband, Bill Brown, dropped by to welcome us, and she came bearing gifts.....a pound of smoked salmon, and a small bottle of Proseco champagne.....how sweet is that?  We talked for about 20 minutes before she bid us adieu.  Around 6 pm we headed indoors for a 'Zoom' meeting with the other staff members to celebrate the retirement of long time managers Ray and Myna Johnson, who had managed SRRVC for 25 years.  They arrived here in 1996 on their first long RV trip after they had retired.  They ended up staying here at SRRVC managing the park for the next 25 years....at age 90 they are finally, really retiring.....lol.  Included in the call were other Brown family members participating from all across the USA.....

Ray and Myna Johnson can be seen in the upper right portion of the 'Zoom' screen, and Bill Brown in the lower right frame

.....the meeting, which included our introduction to the Brown family, as well as those other staffers we have not yet met face to face, went on until after 7 pm, which is when the sun sets around here....had another beautiful sunset watching the sun dip directly into the Pacific Ocean once again.....we waited, and waited, but never saw the 'green flash'.....have you ever seen it?

At any rate, that was our Tuesday.....not much to 'write home about', but is our life nonetheless, and somebody has to live it.
