Tommy Bahama.......

8:10 am - Monday - September 28th - Seal Rock, OR - 63° F, 49% humidity, wind 22 mph out of the east......crystal, clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 77° F.....did you see how low that humidity is?  Hasn't been below 80% since we've been here.....makes for very, very clear skies, and no morning dew....everything is quite dry.......↴

The view this morning

It was back to work Sunday, and what a delightful day it was.  I worked about 2.5 hours cutting new 4x4 posts to length (4.5' each) so Terry and I could replace some which had rotted at the base.  Of course, this involved re-digging several postholes, something with which I am quite familiar.  In addition to that Terry and I did site checks to see who had left, and then cleaned those sites.  Cleaning the sites here means sanitizing them, as well as picking up any trash left behind.  The sanitizing involves spraying a diluted bleach mixture on things the tenants would have touched during their stay.....the picnic table, the electrical pedestal, sewer cap, and hose bib (COVID requirements).  When you only work 2.5 hours the time goes by quickly, and before I knew it I was headed home.  TLE was home by 1 pm having worked from 10 am to 1 pm at the request of Michele, the office manager.

Around 3:30 pm TLE I decided to break in our new Tommy Bahama beach chairs on the beach across the street from SRRVC (Seal Rocks RV Cove).   I love these chairs because they have backpack straps affixed to them making it easy to haul them anywhere handsfree.......

.....within minutes we found our 'spot', and sat down to enjoy the views, the sea breezes, and the smell of the ocean.......

.....there is no cell phone service down on the beach.....not sure why, but it's just not there.  But who needs to be reading a cell phone, right?

.....the sea was still settling down from several days of storms, so we had a lot of wave action Sunday........

......it was so nice to just lie in the sun, smell the ocean, and feel the cool breezes wafting across one's body....very soporific elements, so, of course, I took a nap.  Being able to sit at, or walk along the beach often, for months at a time, pretty much anytime it strikes your fancy was one of the main reasons we chose this location for our winter job.  We are both in our 'happy place' being able to live and work near the Pacific Ocean in a very rural location.  Every night we open one of the bedroom windows so we can clearly hear the sounds of the ocean, which are rarely interrupted by the sound of highway traffic.....in fact it is amazing how little traffic there is at night on this stretch of US-101.

  1. Tommy Bahama chairs and a peaceful beach on the ocean - priceless!
I also like my 'long' work day of 3 hours. It is just enough and I get the afternoon off too!
