The unexpected......

6:47 am - Monday - December 9th - TWW - 37° F, humidity 36%, wind 4 mph out of the south.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 51° F.  On this date in 2022 I was soaking in one of the personal hot tubs at GNHS right at sunset.....

After the early morning Saturday we slept in until after 7 am before getting out of bed....I did, as I usually do, turn on a couple of our gas furnaces to take the chill out of the Newell interior before we officially 'got up'.  After posting my latest blogpost I headed outside to begin to set up a pad for the new Predator 5000.  There is a large 18" x 24" concrete slab over by the garage I wanted to use.  As I approached the the garage I noticed the right rear of the Ford Expedition was rather low.  As I walked around the vehicle I saw the problem...the right rear tire was completely flat....doh!  Well, there goes plan 'A'....lol.  I retrieved one of the floor jacks from the CONEX, jacked up the right rear of the Expedition, then removed the tire.  The problem became obvious immediately.....

....there was a screw right in the middle of the tread.  Okay, that's an easy fix.  I have a plug kit to repair this type of flat tire, so I removed the screw, then installed the plug, and aired up the tire using my new compressor.....

.....the air pressure held, so I reinstalled the tire, then headed to the back of the garage to inspect the aforementioned concrete slab.....

.....since we will no longer be using the Honda EU2000i to charge the Bluetti battery bank first thing each morning we removed it from the shed.  My main issue with having the Honda in the shed was not the exhaust...it was working quite well.  The problem was the heat generated by the Honda with the doors shut caused the Bluetti battery cooling fans to run almost continuously, which is not ideal.  It was an interesting experiment, but not practical in the long run.

With the new Predator 5000 on the job I won't have to get dressed, and go outside first thing in the morning to start up the Honda (I only ran it until the sun hit the Bluetti solar panels each morning).  Now I can just point the remote start key fob out the window of the bedroom and start it.  Now the single generator powers both the Newell house battery charger, and the Bluetti chargers, and is much quieter......

....with the removal of the Honda EU2000i from the shed TLE has room for her plants, and gardening stuff.....

....by the time we finished putting everything away it was 12 pm, and time for a break.

We did need to dump our black tank, and refill our fresh water tank (we were down to 40 gallons), so after our break we first dumped the black tank, then refilled the fresh water tank.  By the time we finished with those tasks, and put away our tools it was after 2 pm, and time to call it a day.  It is a Sunday, after all, and that means NFL football.

My L.A. Rams were playing the Buffalo Bills in the afternoon game, and what a great game it was.  The final score was 44-42 Rams....the most points scored in an NFL game this year.  The Rams held a 10 point lead at half time, and quickly increased that advantage to a 17 point lead early in the 3rd quarter.  Then the game went back and forth in rest of the way with the Rams hanging on as time expired to win by 2 points.

We had a nice sunset, which we observed from the warm confines of the Newell....

....by the way, I did use the remote start this morning (Monday) to start the big Predator 5000, and it worked!  No getting dressed to go outside to start the Honda today, or any other day for that matter!

Thanks for stopping by!
