Get a grip!

7:34 am - Saturday - February 10th - GNHS - 54° F, humidity 66%, wind 7 mph out of the north by northwest......partially cloudy today with a forecast high of 66° F.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I were on Cabbage Key of the coast near Ft. Meyer, FL with Gail (TLE"s cousin) and Jimmy having great burgers at 'Cheeseburger In Paradise'....supposedly Jimmy Buffett got his inspiration for a song by the same name at this restaurant......

Of course, Friday was another day of no advance bookings, however, we hung around anyway just in case we got some walkup business, but as expected, we did not.  TLE and I took just one out and back walk averaging 3.3 mph for the 1 mile route.....

.....but we both got in our toning workouts.  One thing I've been doing during my toning exercises is utilizing a 'hand grip exerciser' to strengthen my hands and fingers, and the unexpected side benefit to using it consistently has been my hands & fingers are no longer stiff when I wake up each morning.....

.....before I began using it about a year ago my fingers would be so stiff each morning I could not make a fist without a lot painful effort, but now the finger stiffness is completely gone, plus I now have a much stronger grip, which was my original goal.  I do about 50 reps with each hand.  The one pictured above is the one I bought off Amazon, which cost less than $8.  If you have this issue, check it out.  You can adjust the pull from 11 lbs to 132 lbs.

It was a very pleasant weather day.....lots of sun, and no wind....I sat outside for a while reading, and then spent time moving things around in the trailer to create more usable space.  When we leave here in a little under 7 weeks I'm going to have to make some difficult decisions on what stays, and what goes, which brings me to my next topic.

Since we're committed now to LPG&RVR* as our annual summer retreat we're going to buy a small shed to put on our current employee site there to store some things we don't need to bring south with us each winter, plus I can get some of the stuff out the trailer while we are there, like the tools I don't use on a regular basis, but need access to occasionally. Initially I'm looking at something like this, which I found on Amazon.....

....eventually, when we get our permanent site, we'll want something bigger,  but this will do for the interim.

TLE and I both spent the rest of the day reading, and I managed to finish book 3 of the four book post apocalyptic series I've been reading.  Each book is between 3-400 pages, so they're easy reads.

Thanks for stopping by!
