Perfect in every way.....

7:22 am - Wednesday - February 21st - GNHS - 56° F, humidity 84%, wind 4 mph out of the west by southwest.....cloudy, and rainy right now....didn't see that coming....forecast high today is 70° F.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I were at a shooting range with good friend Ernie Prociw at Stuart Shooting range in Stuart, FL....TLE getting ready to shoot a Taurus Judge.....

I really meant to write about our Monday when we returned from Poway yesterday afternoon, but I really needed a nap, and then I forgot until it was too late in the evening, but, first of all I need to update you on the trailer roof leak repair I did the other day.  I rained pretty hard for about an hour this morning, unexpectedly.  I just went out to the trailer to check, and found NO water on the floor!!!!  Success!  My patch job using the Flex Seal tape, and paste worked!

Now, back to Monday.  My dermatological appointment was not until 8:30 am Tuesday morning, so we decided not to leave for the 3 hour drive until around 9:30 am Monday.  We had made reservations at the Best Western in Poway for Monday evening, so we had the whole day to get there.

As we passed through Ocotillo Wells (Salton City) at 10:30 am it was around 73° F.  By the time we passed through Borrego Springs, and had climbed the Montezuma grade up to over 4,000' elevation it had become cloudy, and the temp dropped to 53° F.  We got a little rain for about 10 minutes, but then it stopped.  The cloud cover as we descended back down to Poway was very heavy, and rain was forecast for Tuesday morning.

We couldn't check into our hotel until 3 pm, so we decided to head over to Escondido to have lunch at Stone Brewing Company.  We've eaten there numerous times in the past 5 years, so whenever we are in town, and have time we head over for some brews, and great food.  We arrived there around 1 pm without incident....

.....while it was heavily overcast it was not windy, and the temp was in the mid 60's so alfresco dining was in order......

....within minutes our draft brew orders (a Chocolate Pomegranate Porter for me, and an Imperial Stout for TLE.....she loves those Imperial Stouts!) had arrived, and we had settled in for a nice, long, leisurely lunch....the alfresco dining area at Stone Brewing is enormous....the seating capacity is probably close to 200, not to mention their quite large indoor dining area....

.....I ordered their Prime Rib Beef Dip with fries, and TLE their Pulled Pork sandwich with fries.....

....as has always been the case, the brews were wonderful, and the food spectacular.  The ambiance, and service at an eatery this size is without parallel.  You never wonder when your brews, or food orders are going to arrive...they always arrive just when you expect they should, and your server, or someone from the front deck is always checking in with you every 10 minutes, or so, to be sure all is well.  The perfect way, and place to spend an afternoon in Escondido, CA....

....we ordered an Encrusted Seared Ahi Tuna salad to go for our dinner later at the hotel, and were out the door by 2:30 pm on our way beck to Poway.  After a quick stop at the local Walmart Supercenter, we arrived at the Best Western just after 3 pm.

We spent the rest of the afternoon reading, and around 7 pm decided to have our salad.  To chase the salad we had purchased a couple of 22 oz IPAs from the gift shop on our way out of the brewery.....everything was delicious!

We were in bed around 10 pm intending to be on our way over to the Dermatology clinic by 8 am Tuesday morning.  It is rare when a day goes exactly as you see it in your mind, but Monday was such a day for us....perfect in every way.

Thanks for stopping by!
