In the moment.....

7:47 am - Friday - February 9th - GNHS - 49° F, humidity 78%, wind 4 mph out of the northeast.....cloudy today with a forecast high of 60° F.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I were courtesy parking in Ft. Meyers, FL at the home of Gail, one of TLE's cousins.....TLE is from Florida originally......

As I remarked near the end of yesterday's post the park is pretty empty right now, and going into Thursday we had no advance bookings.  We remained available, however, but as was feared, there were no walkups either.  Around 10 am we took our first walk of the day.  TLE consented to an out and back walk of the 2 mile variety, and we managed to average 3.3 mph.  We've now done 10 of the 2 mile variety, and after our second walk at 3 pm, in which we also averaged 3.3 mph, we have now done 48 of the 1 mile variety.....

Morning post walk picture....TLE has quite a garden of  flowers this winter

Afternoon post walk picture....air quality and clarity is remarkable right now

.....after the morning walk I sat outside reading, and enjoying the cool morning air.  Of course, it is cool all day long right now with the high temp each day being in the low 60's.  As you can tell, the daily walks have become pretty routine since Christmas, and much of the time we walk twice each day, and do toning exercises once each day.  The result has been fewer aches and pains, overall better sleep at night, and more flexibility.  I think this is the most consistent we have been with our walking for quite a while.  We're both still hovering around 8.5 pounds lost since Christmas, but as a result of the toning exercises we can both see we are losing inches of girth.  Our clothes are fitting better, and we are tightening our belts....lol.

I was going to take another soak Thursday, but never got around to it.  Instead I spent more time reading, and enjoying the post apocalyptic series I've mentioned.  I managed to finish the second book Thursday, and began the third book.  It is a real page turner.

Around 4:15 pm we both took a break from reading and retired to the 'viewing deck' to watch the Chocolates light up, and the sun set.  Sunset is now 5:21 pm here at GNHS, which is closing in on an hour later than 6 weeks ago.....the days (daylight that is) are slowly getting longer.....

.....have you ever wondered what the writing on the side of the Colorado Outback van says?  Well, here is a close up....

.....I know there is a little bit of the glare on the right side of the picture, but it says: "White Water Rafting, Jeep Rentals, Side by Side UTV Rentals, Jeep tours, and Wakesurfing, Kids Go-Kart".  In Durango COA offers a lot of options  beside Side by Side UTV Rentals.  Some of our customers this year have actually rented Jeeps, or gone White Water Rafting with COA in Durango.

We're kind of in that period of time now that we are beginning to think about moving north again, but trying to remain in the moment, and enjoy the balance of our time here at GNHS.  The reason we came here last year was my idea, because I wanted to be able to access the hot pools/tubs on a regular basis.  Last winter I was inconsistent about that, but this winter I've soaked on a pretty regular basis, and will leave here this Spring with no regrets.  I cannot change what is passed, and I have no control over what tomorrow brings, but I can control what I do today, Friday, February 9th.....I can live in the moment.

Well, even though we still have no bookings for today (Friday), we need to get dressed, and be prepared for walkup business.  A number of RVs did arrive Thursday (5, or 6) so if we're going to have walkup business it will be today, or Saturday, so I will now bid you adieu until tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!
