Mondays.....

8:07 am - Tuesday - February 6th - GNHS - 55° F, humidity 89%, wind 7 mph out of the southeast......heavy cloud cover today, occasional rain, and a forecast high of 60° F.  On this date in 2020 we were hanging out in Borrego Springs with our good friends Rich and Marnie Aaron, for whom we worked at Ramona Oaks RV Resort from May 2019 to January 2020....employers who became good friends......and we both own VW Beetles!......

Ahhhhh, Mondays.....lazy Mondays....sleep in Mondays....read a good book Mondays.....take a couple of naps Monday, take long walks Mondays....just a few of the things I love about Mondays here at GNHS.  As has been our custom since Christmas we began our Monday with a walk, but not the standard 1 mile walk......on this day we did our 2 mile out and back walk covering the distance in 37 minutes at an average speed of 3.3 mph......

I'm not sure why TLE blew off the post walk picture....as you can see it was VERY cloudy Monday

.....after the walk I did my toning workout, then headed down to the hot pools/tubs for a good soak......this time in one of the hot pools......had it all to myself......

Another, apparently, angry bunny

....in between walking, soaking and working out I did something which I have not done in quite a while.....read a book.  What kind of book you might query, well a post apocalyptic type book.....kind of a departure from my preferred genre....Westerns.  So far I'm liking it, and if that continues I'll reveal the author and title.....it is actually a series of books about life in post apocalyptic America on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

TLE and I also watched most of an English Premier soccer match between Manchester City and Crystal Palace, which, predictably, was won by Manchester City 3-1.  After that we took a second out and back walk, this time of the 1 mile variety, averaging 3.5 mph over the course.....

There's the broken RZR on the trailer in the background ready to be delivered to COYNE down in El Centro once we get the approval from Polaris

.....in all we burned around 550 caloric units Monday, and continue to improve our fitness whilst losing pounds and inches....life is good!  So far we have done 45 of the 1 mile walks, and 9 of the 2 mile walks for a total accumulated mileage of 63. Our long term goal is to break the 100 mile mark before we leave on April 1st....I think we'll make it, and then some.

For our evening entertainment we watched 'The Beekeeper' on Amazon Prime starring Jason Statham (although IMDB only gives this action/thriller 6.5 stars out of a possible 10, we liked it), then transitioned to watching 'Taggart', another of those BritBox murder mysteries, which has 9 seasons, and was produced back in the late 80's into the 90's.  So far we like it, and have plowed through 5 of the 9 seasons.  Each episode is 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Thanks for stopping by!
