Incidentally.....

7:01 am - Saturday - February 3rd - GNHS - 47° F, humidity 87%, wind 4 mph out of the south......crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 63° F.  On this date in 2023 we took delivery on TLE's almost brand new Ekhornes recliner......

The park (GNHS) was still quite empty Friday morning, and we did not expect any walkup business as a result. We did, however, have one advance all day booking for our 2 seat General so we were on the job around 8:20 am.  During the course of taking care of that customer we had two walkup customers, both for all day.  We sent one customer out in a 4 seat General, and the other one in a 4 seat RZR.

You may recall that I wrote about having to place a square piece of particle board over the vent hole in the roof of our office a few months ago to keep out the rain.  The original vent cover was lost in a wind storm a few years back.  Well, in the rain storm last Monday rain managed to get into the office in spite of the particle board, so I talked with Kyle to see if he had anything down at the park shop that would work better, and guess what he found?...

....an extra vent cover!  He brought it by the office on Thursday, and Friday, after our 3 all day rentals had departed, I installed it.  We've got more rain coming beginning Monday, so we'll get a chance to see how well this works!

After that I took a solo out and back 1 mile walk, which was the 40th so far since Christmas....I averaged 3.4 mph.....

.....I had planned to take a second one later in the day, but then we got a call from one of our all day rental customers (the 4 seat RZR) around 12:30 pm that they had rolled it over 3, or 4 times way out near the Red Canyon Jeep Trail that we were just on a few days ago.  Kyle and Hunter were on their way within minutes in two of our other RZRs to retrieve the 4 customers, and see if the damaged RZR could be driven, or would have to be towed back.  Within an hour they returned.......

Without that roll cage, and full face helmets I think we would have had some serious injuries, if not fatalities

....the roll cage was severely crushed, and the passenger in the right front passenger seat had a serious concussion.  The paramedics were called, and arrived within 20 minutes.  She was later taken to the hospital for tests, and overnight observation.  The RZR looks like a total loss, to me, and it is amazing that no one else was hurt.  Even more amazingly, Kyle was able to drive it back.

Thankfully, our other two rentals returned without incident.  I was fueling up the 2 seat General when the sun hit the western horizon.  I still needed to wash it as it is going out on another all day rental Saturday morning.......

....by the time I parked the now washed 2 seat General it was 5:20 pm, and dark.  You just never know how a rental day will evolve.  This will be our second total loss since the beginning of October.

Thanks for stopping by!
