Boxed in......

7:41 am - Friday - November 22nd - TWW - 33° F, humidity 18%, wind 7 mph out of the southeast.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 70° F.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I had returned to SoCal after being gone for 22 months....we stayed at Rancho Jurupa Regional Park for 3 months worked a little, and visited a lot with our kids....this was a sunrise at that park on this date in 2013....

We took a day of working at TWW to head into Seligman to get a PO Box.  Many things we order are shipped via USPS, and being able to have them delivered to Seligman, which is just a 30 minute drive from TWW.  The only other time we've gotten our own PO Box was when we were working in Yellowstone back in 2017.  It just seemed to be a cool idea to have a mailing address in Yellowstone, and since we drove by the Post Office going to and from work it was really handy for receiving packages, etc.  Since we were going into Seligman we decided to do a load of wash, fill up a couple of gas cans, and have lunch at the Road Kill Cafe.  They are right across the street from Westside Lilo's, where we ate a couple of weeks ago.  These are, as far as I am concerned, the two best restaurants in town.

However, I get ahead of myself, which is a common occurrence.  Seeing that we had burned through half of our 60 gallon propane tank since arriving here at TWW one month ago, we decided to order propane service, which would involve the installation of a 120 gallon propane tank next to our Newell.  Since we now use our gas furnaces 100% of the time to heat the Newell interior, and are now using our gas stove/oven much more often, we are consuming a lot of propane, and that's fine, but seeing how fast we have gone through it these past 31 days is a little disconcerting.  Having a 120 gallon tank, which can be refilled with a phone call, allows us to use propane as it is needed without worrying about running out in the middle of the night in the near future.

Ken, who works for Yavapai Bottle Gas, arrived at the property around 7:12 am to do the inspection, and installation.  After showing him our propane setup I left him to work his magic, and returned to the warm confines of the Newell to write my latest missive....

The 120 gallon tank has been set just as the sun rises above the eastern tree line

....in all it took Ken just an hour beginning to end.  He did a great job, and we really appreciated his professionalism.  He plumbed into our system, disconnecting our 60 gallon tank, but did it in such a way that I can reconnect everything easily when we get ready to leave TWW in late April.  It only costs $80/year to rent the bottle, and we will most likely be back next Fall, so it will just be a matter of them reconnecting everything when we return.....

....we didn't leave for Seligman until around 11:15 am, arriving at the Seligman Laundromat at 11:45 am.  We quickly loaded two washers with dirty laundry, and then headed over to the USPS to secure our aforementioned PO Box.  Miranda helped us with the paperwork, and within 30 minutes, or so we had our box assigned and the keys to unlock it.

By the time we returned to the laundromat our clothes were ready for folding, after which we headed directly to Road Kill Cafe for lunch.  TLE had their version of a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, and I had their Black Angus 1/2 pound burger with cheese, bacon, and a fried egg....OMG, that Black Angus hamburger is that for which to die....

.....everything they serve you there is BIG....the Dr. Pepper glass at least 22 ounces, and there was no way for either TLE, or I to eat more than half our food before surrendering and calling for a 'doggy bag'.  We'll be able to enjoy those entrees a second time very soon.

By the time we returned home it was around 2:30 pm, and the day was pretty much done, so we put away some things we bought at the Family Dollar store, then relaxed for a couple of hours.  I'm pretty sure I took at least one nap during that time.  We were getting ready to call it a day, when I thought to check our fresh water tank level and found that we were down to 20 gallons, so we dropped what we were doing and connected the coach to the IBC water tote, and pumped 120 gallons of fresh water back into our tank.  By the time we finished it was dark, and we were really done for the day....lol!

Thanks for stopping by!
