St. Michael.....

7:12 am - Wednesday - January 22nd - TWW - 21° F, humidity , wind 5 mph out of the east by northeast.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 52° F.  On this date in 2018 TLE and I were at the Tiki Bar in Cedar Key, FL observing another amazing Cedar Key sunset.....

You probably wondered what happened with Tuesday's post about Monday, and here it is already Wednesday.  Well, we took an overnight trip to Prescott, and I forgot my laptop, again, so I'll be writing about Monday and Tuesday in today's blogosphere offerings.

Monday, January 20th:

We haven't had a COSTCO, or TJ's fix for quite a while, and we needed to do a BIG shopping to replenish our pantry, and also add to our emergency food supplies, which we have not done for a some time now.  The next emergency is always just around the corner.  Our plan was to be on the road by 10 am, and we were.  We topped off the Expedition fuel tank on Sunday, so our drive was non-stop with us arriving in Prescott without incident around 12 pm.

Our first stop was at Home Depot where I was able to eliminate about 80% of the items on my 'hardware' items list, then a block over to Harbor Freight where we bought the rest of the items.  I have needed a bigger sledge hammer, and a shorter, more pointed prybar.  On a side note I was surprised that Home Depot does not seem to carry large sledge hammers, or large prybars.  At any rate I bought an 8 pound sledge, and a shorter, more pointed prybar for breaking up, and prying out those rocks out on our entry street.....

.....since we planned to stay in Prescott overnight I had made reservations at the St. Michael Hotel in Old Town Prescott.  The hotel was built in 1864, and remodeled in 2017 to its present look.  There is an onsite restaurant, Bistro St. Michael, and a bar called the 'Speak Easy', which it actually was back during 'Prohibition' day.....

.....once we were done with the 'hardware' shopping part of our trip we headed over to the St. Michael Hotel to have lunch in the Bistro. It was at this point that I realized I had not only forgotten my laptop, but more importantly my overnight suitcase....LOL!  How did I do that?  All I had on me were the clothes I was wearing....no tooth brush, no deodorant, no tooth paste, no change of clothes, no night clothes.....NADA, ZIP, ZERO!

While we were eating our wonderful lunch at the Bistro we decided to head over to the local Walmart Supercenter to buy the aforementioned items for moi, before checking into the hotel....

....TLE had their Rueben sandwich, and I their Bistro Burger with jalapenos and cheese.  To chase the delicious food I ordered a Lumberyard Red Ale (from the Lumberyard Brewing Company in Flagstaff), and TLE a Blonde Ale.  We arrived around 1 pm for lunch, and were on our way over to Walmart by 2:15 pm.  By the time we got my overnight items, and returned to the hotel is was exactly 3 pm, which is the official check in time.

Our room (209) was on the second floor. The hotel does have its original elevator, but we took the stairs to our room, which was right above the lobby....

.....the NCAA National Championship football game was on at 5:30 pm, so we were able to watch it in full.  Unfortunately, the best moment in the game for Notre Dame was their very first drive for a touchdown in which they had the ball for 10 of the first 15 minutes, but then it was all Ohio State for the rest of the game. Even though the final score was 34-23, it was not that close, and could easily have been 64-23.  Notre Dame scored late in the game when it was essentially already decided.  At half time score was 28-7.

We're about ready to head into Seligman today (Wednesday) to take delivery on the 1969 Chevrolet C90 dump truck, so I'll write about Tuesday when I get back.

Thanks for stopping by!
