The way home......

8:20 pm - Wednesday - January 22nd - TWW - 31° F, humidity 13%, wind 5 mph out of the east by northeast.....dark....forecast low tonight is 15° F.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I were having lunch at Tony's Seafood Restaurant in Cedar Key, FL.....

.....we had their wonderful clam chowder that won the best clam chowder award in the world 7 consecutive years.

We slept quite well on the pillowed mattress king size bed in our 'City View' room.  The room remained at a constant, comfortable temperature all night long due to the radiant heat emitting from the baseboard heaters.  We still had a lot of shopping left to do so we were out the door by 8 am, and in the Expedition heading to the local Fry's Supermarket....I dropped TLE at the door and headed one block back to Able Saw (they sell, and service Stihl chainsaws, weed whippers, etc.) to buy two chains for my 20" Stihl chainsaw.  I had tried to buy them online through Amazon, but the chains they sent did not fit the chainsaw.  At Able Saw they cut the chain to length from a spool.  The two chains cost me $93, but they are guaranteed.  If they don't fit your chainsaw they will give you a 100% refund, no questions asked.

By the time I returned to Fry's to retrieve TLE she was almost done shopping, and within 10 minutes we were headed over to the local Trader Joe's, then on to COSTCO.  We got to COSTCO about 25 minutes to 10 (they open at 10 am), so we had to wait 25 minutes before we could begin our last shopping foray of the day.  To pass the time we went over to the fuel station to top off our tank, and paid the lowest Regular Unleaded gas price in some time.....

....which made us smile from ear to ear....$2.89/gallon!

By the time we finished our COSTCO shopping it was 11 am, and then we were on our way home.  It only took us one hour and forty-five minutes to make the uneventful drive.  We bought a lot of food over two days, and it took TLE a good 2 hours, plus, to put it all away.

It was a nice 27 hour interlude, but we are always glad to be back HOME.  Our house batteries were at 73% at 1 pm, and 100% a couple of hours later.  Our Bluetti battery bank was at 67%, and back to 100% by 3 pm, also.  Life is good when everything works as it should, right?

We are in a very cold stretch, but will begin to see warming temperatures over the next week, before it gets cold again.  On Wednesday we'll drive back into Seligman to pay for, and take delivery on the 1969 Chevrolet C90 flatbed dump truck....our last major purchase of the winter.

Thanks for stopping by!
