Tax Man

A year ago this coming Monday we were in St. Augustine, FL for the day.  It was April 15th and we needed to get our taxes in the mail, so that was the first thing we did that day before heading out around the town on our bicycles.  This April 15th will find us leaving Huntington, WV and heading toward Washington D.C. where "our" collective Federal tax dollars find their way each year.  Of course, now that we have retired the flow of money has now reversed and is now flowing into our bank account each month for a change.

Saturday I felt significantly better than I felt Friday, which, comparatively, was a big improvement over each preceding day.  While I was feeling much better TLE was sneezing A LOT!  She wasn't sure if it was allergies, or if she was getting the flu like "moi", so she spent the day relaxing and reading.  I really hope she is not getting sick with what I had.....it is miserable stuff indeed.

Of course, this is still Masters weekend, and in the afternoon around 3 pm our focus shifted to Saturday's 3rd round.  No doubt those of you who follow golf know about the controversy surrounding Tiger Woods regarding an improper ball drop he made on hole 15 Friday afternoon resulting in a retroactive 2 stroke penalty assessed by the Competition Committee Saturday morning.  Many thought he should either be disqualified, or disqualify himself.  Regrettably, many so called experts chose to assume they knew all the details before they had been released, and were making pronouncements of doom and gloom for the game of golf if Tiger were allowed to play Saturday.  Many of them had to publicly take back their comments when all the facts were finally released.  A good lesson for us all to keep our powder dry until all the facts are known.

There are 8 players within 4 strokes of the co-leaders, so anything is possible, and we are both looking forward to Sunday's round to see who prevails.  Beyond that we are both hoping TLE's stuffiness is just allergies.

My appetite has apparently returned......TLE asked me last night if I wanted tacos for dinner, and I realized I did as I heard myself saying "how about 4!"...... I still felt good after downing those tacos.....definitely on the road to recovery.  We also heard that Kobe did indeed tear his achilles, and, in fact, had surgery to repair that tear Saturday.  He's now out for 6-9 months.

Okay, time to get off my duff and dump the black tank.....having spent most of the past 9 days using our restroom facilities almost exclusively it is full a day, or two ahead of time.  Was hoping I could make it until Monday when we leave, but that is not happening.

Thanks for stopping by!
