The Undead

Have you ever gotten so sick that at first you were afraid you might die, then, after a few days were afraid you wouldn't die, and continue to suffer for weeks on end?  I never quite got to that point, but it was close.  So I am officially "The Undead" for now.

You will recall that on Monday I paid for 2 more days here at Robert Newlon Airpark.  By the time Wednesday came there was no way we were going to move, but the office manager never came in that day so we just stayed put.  Thursday afternoon Allen did show up so I sent TLE over to pay us up through Friday.

Thursday was the first round of the Master's Golf Tournament.  This is one of my favorite golf tournaments to watch, and wherever I am every year I take time to watch as much of it as I can.  Live TV coverage did not begin until 3 pm eastern time, so I spent the morning resting, and actually had some breakfast.....oatmeal....great comfort food when you are not feeling well.  Later on in the afternoon TLE made me some scrambled eggs, so I had two small meals....that is an improvement over Wednesday when I ate almost nothing all day.

The weather the past few days has been getting warmer.....in the low to mid 80's Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and we had to turn on the A/C by mid afternoon each of those days....just too steamy, and not enough breeze to cool off the inside.

I watched the Master's coverage, starting at 3, the rest of the afternoon into the early evening, taking cat naps along the way.  Every time I awoke I expected to hear rain on the roof, but it was still and quiet....not even a breeze.  Finally around 8, or 9 the wind came up, and was really pounding the patio awning so I rallied my strength and went out with TLE to stow it lest the wind rip it off the coach.  We struggled a little, but eventually got it put away.  The rain finally came around 11, and it rained on and off the rest of the night.

Enjoy yourself Scott!

My good friend Scott Smith is attending the Masters this year.....it is/was on his bucket list, just like mine.  Wish I was there with you buddy, but even if I had tickets this year I'm sick as a dog at the wrong time...don't know if I would have been up to walking the course.

It is Friday morning and I still feel pretty "rocky", so I think we'll pay for one more day, and pull up anchor Saturday.  I could probably have driven today, but why do it when I don't feel as sharp as I would like?  Plus the forecast for today is "WINDY", and that is what we have right now....winds gusting to 30 mph....would not be a fun day to drive anyway, so here we will sit stirring the Jello one more day.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thanx for the plug Clarke... you would love it at The Masters. So much history, so much class, so many great golfers! I will never forget this experience! Scott

  2. You're welcome Scott......what do you think about the Tiger controversy this morning after the, apparently, incorrect ball drop on the back 9 yesterday?

  3. I think the rules were followed appropriately. He is good enough to rebound from this. His attitude had been exemplary this week. Scott
