A day of rest.....

7:45 am - Monday - January 17th - Newell House, AZ - 46° F, 51% humidity, wind 5 mph out of the north by northeast......partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 69° F.  The sunrise this morning......

....and on this date in 2015 I was walking Sharon, my daughter, down the aisle......↴

Happy 7th anniversary Sharon and Rod!

I had great ambitions for Sunday such as setting up the trailer interior for a month long stay at Newell House, and getting our bicycles out, but after spending half the morning talking with friends I kind of lost my mojo, and decided to just take at easy the rest of the day.  It was definitely warmer than Saturday, but still a little chilly if you weren't standing in direct sunlight.....much like it was for the 6 weeks we spent boondocking in the Anza Borrego Desert.

For the first time in almost two months we are connected to city services for an indefinite period of time, and our mindset has drifted from conservation of our resources to how many loads of wash can we get done today.  As I compose today's missive all three of our quiet electric heaters are running, and the sun is peaking in through TLE's passenger side window and catching the corner of my eye.  We have, once again, changed our view without the necessity of an escrow.  We last 'paid the rent' on October 21, 2021, and still have a little under 1/3 tank of diesel (we did add a modest 27 gallons on Saturday to extend our range).

Whenever we visit Newell House we usually have minor and/or major projects to get done.  Back in March of 2020 while at Newell House we replaced our water heater with the new Girard tankless water heater, rebuilt our Thetford dump valves, worked on the faulty tachometer signal generator, pressure washed the radiator, and replaced our two 8d house batteries.  February of 2021 we removed our Leece-Neville alternator to have it rebuilt, and reinstalled it, removed the old driver seat, then installed a new one,  removed the old Stewart-Warner analog tachometer, then installed the new Speedhut digital tachometer, and installed new LED headlights.  It's a great place to take care of projects big and small as Tom has every tool under the sun, and having access to his expert knowledge, and advice is priceless.

Back in February of 2012 we stopped off in Mesa, AZ (before they moved to Wittmann) to visit Tom and Darlene at the very beginning of our fulltime journey.  At the time Tom helped me rebuild our rear air valve six pack, install a new to us Dometic refrigerator, install a new air pressure regulator, and fix our trailer lights.  We've visited Tom and Darlene most years we have been the road, so it's kind of like our winter hiatus place.....the one constant in our nomadic lifestyle.

Time to get busy on the projects I should have done Sunday.....thanks for stopping by!
