I saw significant progress in the rehabilitation of my left shoulder Monday, and as I type this morning I am doing so without pain.....amazing how much injured appendages improve when you stop abusing them for a few days! This time I'm going to give it a couple of weeks and then gingerly began to expand my activity again. Right now I am not riding my bike, not sweeping, not lifting, not reaching for things, which means I'm pretty much a one armed guy right now.
Monday itself was a day of influx once again as the SDA church group began arriving for the week long tent meeting back in the Group area. Once this week is over the campground will settle down until Labor Day. We had over 90 arrivals scheduled and they steadily streamed in two and three at a time until we were down to just 20 at 5 pm.
There were no big issues to deal with Monday......just the routine stuff like "I think 'they' are encroaching on my site' (no, they're not), "I can't get my RV in that site" (yes you can, and yes you did), "Something's wrong with your electrical pedestal" (no, it's your 15 year old surge protector that has gone bad), "I've had that site for 15 years in a row, please move those people" (no, we can't, and no we won't......we only move people in an emergency now....you'll come to like your new site), "There are too many kids around my site" (define 'too many'....there are kids, of course....in this case 3....this is a family campground after all), and on it goes.
Personally, and this is just me, I would not choose this type of campground for a desperately needed vacation during the busiest part of the summer.....it's a little too crowded for me....I like a little more space between me and my neighbor. For many people, though, Tahoe Valley Campground is like the Garden of Eden.....an oasis away from their workaday lives and I totally get it. Really, TVC is a very nice rustic campground with lots of amenities, but it is not 'Big Rig Friendly' for the most part....there are a few sites that work for big rigs, but very, very few. It's perfect for rigs under 35 feet. For instance, there are only 8, or 9 sites that will work for my 62' length, and half of those I would not choose. The site we are in works perfectly for us with the perfect combination of sun, shade, and space....there might be one, or two more I would choose, but that's it.
We both clocked out at exactly 1700 hours.......we watched 'So You Think You Can Dance', and were in bed by 2200 hours....
Thanks for stopping by!
