As hard as Monday was, Tuesday was the exact opposite.......we had a grand total of 13 arrivals, and by the time 1600 hours rolled around all but two of them had arrived. There were 43 departures so the park got even emptier. When TVC is this empty there are very few sites that are difficult to get into, and I had to assist just one gentleman into 202.....otherwise everyone else was 'sympatico'.
TLE was, once again, the only one in the office, so I stayed close, and basically became her 'cabana boy' for most of the day......not that that's a bad thing.....I ran site tags out to sites which had no site tags, I went with a woman who thought she had found a 'homeless encampment' in the woods down near the airport boundary fence (it had been a couple of months ago....Merlin and I spent 30 minutes cleaning up the residue), I took people to look at our cabins, to look at sites, back to their RV's, etc. I chased down barking dog reports (the alleged barking dogs were not barking), site encroachment reports, leaky hose bib reports, picked up unused firewood (added to our growing pile), a large 10 lb. bag of unused charcoal briquettes (which I gave to our neighbors.....we have a gas BBQ), and helped Rick replace a few battery cables on my golf cart. In general it was just a very laid back, pleasant day....no muss....no fuss....
After this Wednesday we have 10 work days left....perhaps a couple more if the office needs help....but, we are on the short side of our stay here at TVC....May 9th seems so very long ago, and now we are getting e-mails from Ranger Greg at the Cape Blanco Lighthouse about our next job beginning September 1st.
At just after 1600 hours TLE and I clocked out and headed for the barn......Tuesday was a perfect counterpoint to Monday, so I guess you can call me "Even Steven".....
Thanks for stopping by!
