7:28 am - Friday - September 8th - 45º F, humidity 59%, wind 3 mph out of the east.......no clouds, but very, very, very hazy once again.
Thursday we worked our new 'MID1' shift which now runs from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm in light of the new store hours being 8 am to 8 pm. It is a little disorienting to be leaving for work at 9 am, but oh so nice being on our way home by 5:30 pm!
Before we left for work we drove over to Charles and Bobbi's Landmark 5th wheel to say our 'until next times' as they were leaving to continue their travels. We had a great time wandering around the Lamar Valley with them, plus two nice dinners.....until next time Charles and Bobbi!
We had only been at work for about an hour when I heard a familiar voice.....a voice I associate with Tahoe Valley Campground.....the voice belonged to Dave Lester....as I looked up from scooping ice cream I saw Dave and Marjorie peering over the plexiglass sanitary barrier. We know Dave and Marjorie from our days at TVC.....they usually stay at TVC for anywhere from a month to three months every summer, and as a result we became friends. They have finished their sojourn at TVC this year and are now over at West Yellowstone for a month......very cool to see them again!

Other than that surprise visit Thursday continued the trend of dwindling tourist traffic at the General Store.....things never really got very busy for our entire shift, and by the time we left at 5:30 had really slowed down.
We were home before 6 pm sitting outside and enjoying the early evening air.....something we have rarely done due to our work schedule. I ultimately fired up the Sea-B-Que to grill a couple of top sirloins for dinner, and TLE provided a Caesar Salad. On top of that Thursday also featured the NFL Kickoff game between the NE Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs.....the Chiefs ended up trouncing the 2016 Super Bowl 42-27.
Well, we have the 'MID1' shift again today, Friday, and it is just about time to get ready to go to work.....have a great day, and thank you for stopping by!
