Repositioning.....

6:28 am - Sunday - April 9th - GNHS - 62° F, humidity 52%, wind 4 mph out of the northeast.....clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 90° F.  On this date in2012 TLE and I were conoeing on the Loxahatchee River near Stuart, FL with good friend Ernie Prociw, and his wife Carol.......↴

In Golf, Saturday is called moving day.  It is the day when golfers who have made the 'cut' on Friday attempt to move dramatically up the leaderboard before the final round on Sunday.  Well, Saturday was moving day for TLE and I, also.  First thing Saturday morning TLE and I deployed our trusty 'Trailer Valet' to back our 26' enclosed car hauler trailer across the parking lot to the far corner in order to make room for turning the Newell 180° from its current orientation facing southeast to a northwest orientation, so on Sunday we can drive right out of the COA parking lot to exit the park.  Our Newell has been in its current orientation for over 5 months.  Moving the trailer took less than 20 minutes, and we were ready to move the Newell, but we needed to wait until our 10 am rental customer arrived, and departed on their 6 hour tour.

By 10:15 I was firing up the big Detroit Diesel 6v92 TA and making a three point turn within the confines of the COA parking lot....it is pretty big.  By 10:45 am we had backed up to the trailer, dropped the trailer on the hitch, and repositioned her to her new orientation.....

....Saturday was the warmest day this week at 85
° F, and being the hot weather wimps we be we had the A/C running shortly after connecting the shore power once again.  Once the A/C was running, and our DirecTV playing the 3rd round of The Masters I set about attaching the leveling bars, the chains, 7 pin 12 volt cord, and anti-sway bar between the trailer and Newell hitch.....

.....I forgot to add that we had to take down our Starlink dishy for the first time in 5 months so we could turn the Newell around.  Now, only the COA Starlink dishy graces the roof of the COA office......

....once we had re-leveled the Newell it was time for me to begin to coil up all the hoses we had been using for fresh water, and to drain our gray water from its tank.  We're not going to reconnect the water, and sewer, but will dump one last time sometime Sunday, and I will refill our fresh water tank near the end of the day so we have a full tank to begin our trip northward to Likely, CA.

The 3rd round of The Masters was suspended around 3 pm EDST due to heavy rainfall, which began to flood the greens, so they will have to be up early Sunday to finish the 3rd round before beginning the 4th, and final round.

Our rental customers returned promptly at 4 pm from their 6 hour tour without incident (no accidents, no flat tires, no breakdown, no rescue), and around 5 pm I washed it (#2 RZR), plus the #1 RZR, and #9 KRX as we will have three rentals going out on our final day of our stint here at GNHS.  While Kyle managed to get the #4 RZR to start, it is still flakey, and we don't want to rent it out knowing we might have to go out to tow her back.....we really don't want any unnecessary rescues on our final day.

As I write we have less than 24 hours until we haul anchor, and roll our wheels at 6 am Monday morning.  We'll drive into Thousand Palms (near Palm Springs) to Parkhouse Tire Company where we will have our 4 new drive tires installed around 7:30 am before continuing to our 'written in Jello' destination of Bishop, CA.  We hope to be in Minden, NV by Tuesday afternoon.

We finish our stint here with mixed emotions.....we have really enjoyed the job, and our time soaking in the hot pools here at GNHS, and save for the coming summer heat, would love to stay doing just what we have been doing the past 5 months, but another favorite job calls us back to Likely Place Golf & RV Resort.  Life, it be really good!

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. - As we will be leaving GNHS at 6 am tomorrow morning, I will not post my blog until we get to Parkhouse Tire Company.  I'm hoping to have enough time to do so.  If that doesn't work out, I will post it when we get to Bishop.  Thank you for your patience!
