6:07 am - Tuesday - October 3rd (Happy birthday to me!)- LPG&RVR - 50° F, humidity 84%, wind 2 mph out of the south by southeast.....cloudy today with a forecast high of 65° F. On this date in 2021, which also happens to be my birthday, we were taking the ferry from Port Townsend to Coupeville, WA......↴
In line.....
....crossing Puget Sound to Coupeville
Originally I thought I would be working Monday 'punching' greens, but we got a reprieve due to the rain over the weekend, so on my birthday eve I got to sleep in until after 7 am. I thought I needed to be done with the trailer organizing Sunday, but now I had an extra day to fine tune what I had already done. Looking at those pictures I took of how the trailer looked after Sunday's organizing efforts made me realize I had fallen short of my goal.
On the wheel well cover on the driver side of the trailer there are those two, long boxes of vinyl flooring planks left over from installing our new floors, which I cannot leave there, or TLE will not be able to open the car door and exit the VW after she pulls it into the trailer. Along with those boxes were 5, or 6 gallon size jugs of various liquids (laundry detergent, radiator cleaning solution, oil for the VW, white vinegar, floor polish, etc.), which needed to be moved, too. So, after a suitable morning interval of typing the blog, and enjoying a cup of coffee I headed out to the trailer around 9:30 am to move those items. When we packed up to leave Glamis North last April I stowed those boxes, and jugs on the floor between the bicycles, but I had done it as I was stowing the bicycles, however, the bicycles were now stowed, and I had NO intention of unstowing them, so it took a little patience, and ingenuity to stow all that stuff, which I was able to do without unstowing anything....whew! Now I can say, without equivocation, that the trailer is ready for VW insertion.
The high temperature of the day for Monday was forecast to be 60° F, but it never got past 55° F, plus it was still breezy, so after finishing with the trailer around 11:30 am I pretty much spent the rest of the day inside with TLE. Although, around 4 pm I drove over to the Clubhouse in Club Car Villager #20 to remind Walt that I would be working for him on Tuesday, since we would not otherwise be engaged in 'punching' greens. He traded, some time ago, work days with me taking my Saturday (this Saturday) workday and I taking his Tuesday workday (this Tuesday), then we found out we would be 'punching' greens, so he agreed to take my Saturday anyway (nice guy).
According to Walt there were about 20 people out golfing Monday, and about 10 carts rented....not bad for a wintery Monday. However, I must note, there were no permanent residents on the course....just folks trying to squeeze in one more round before they return to their workaday lives.
Thanks for stopping by!
