We were up a little after 5 am Friday morning and on our way over to Pacific Eye Institute by 6:30 am, arriving just before 7 am. I was signed in and upstairs in the surgical waiting room by 7 am. Once you are upstairs the process is pretty straight forward, and you know pretty much you will be in the surgical suite within 45 minutes. The process this time, however, was quite a bit different. 2.5 years ago the pre-surgical process included a couple of hypodermic needle shots directly in the eye....that was old school, apparently. This time they just administered eye drops to deaden the eye. Additionally, last time I had to have an eye patch on my eye after surgery for 24 hours, and had to return the next morning to have the patch removed, and have my eye checked for vision. This time there was just a clear cover put over my eye, and we I had to return at 12:45 pm to have it removed, and my vision checked......much more efficient!
I was able to see pretty clearly immediately after the surgery, and by 9:30 am we were on our way home. Last time we were released a little after 10 am, and since I had been fasting since midnight we stopped at the local In-N-Out for a burger, but they don't open until 10 am, so this time we just went home where TLE made me some breakfast. When we returned for my patch removal appointment at 12:45 pm we stopped at In-N-Out on the way home around 2 pm to get my post surgical hamburger....
Awaiting the removal of the temporary patch
.......waiting for our number to be called at In-N-Out......I have my catsup all lined up for my French Fries......
......we were back at my son's home by 3 pm where I immediately lay down for a one hour nap......
My son has 'cut the cord' and now just watches TV using YouTube TV, so I'm getting used to navigating my way around streaming TV while we are here. We watched a movie on YouTube called 'UnLocked', a spy thriller......very, very good!
Thanks for stopping by!
