Double doh!

6:31 am - Tuesday - March 29th - Elks Backyard, CA - 50° F, humidity 84%, wind 1 mph out of the west by southwest.....heavy overcast this morning, and raining with a forecast high of 64° F....supposed to clear later this morning.  On this date in 2013 we were near Ashville, NC on the banks of the French Broad River at Wilson's Riverfront RV Park watching the rain fall.....↴

.....still raining 9 years later.....lol!

Our original Jello plan was to drive the Newell over to Joel's Automotive Monday, but the forecast was for rain most of the day Monday, so we postponed the move until Tuesday morning....of course, as I write Tuesday morning about Monday, it is still raining.  On the bright side of things it is supposed to stop within the hour, and we will then make the move, however, back to Monday.

The rain was forecast to begin around 8 am, but the first drops did not fall until well after 11 am.  A part of me wondered if we had gone ahead and gone over to Joel's at 7 am like we had originally planned we might have gotten the oil change, and coolant change done before the rain, but most likely we would have been driving home in torrential rain anyway.  I wanted to take another bike ride Monday, but at 9 am the rain looked imminent, so I worked on my strength/toning exercises instead.

Since it was slated to rain all Monday, and into the night I decided to make good use of the time and do our 2021 taxes.  I've had everything I needed to do them for over a month, but doing taxes is my least favorite thing in the world, and I knew we would not owe any tax, and would have no refund coming either, so I procrastinated.  It took me less than an hour to confirm my suspicions that I owed no Federal, or State tax, and since our total income (aside from Social Security) was under a certain threshold I didn't even have to file a California form this year.  Once the Federal 1040 form was complete I went to print it, but discovered that the black ink in our HP printer was almost empty, and I was unable to print both pages.  We don't do a lot of printing during the year, but we always seem to do just enough to drain the printer cartridge just before tax season....doh!

By this time it was around 1 pm, and we had at least two errands to run besides getting a new printer ink cartridge, so we decided to run those errands even though it was raining. The VW needed a good wash, and a hard rain is the perfect anecdote for that.  We stopped at the local Walmart in west Fontana, and secured what I thought was the correct HP cartridge, #60, but upon our return home I discovered, much to my chagrin, that we really needed #61....doh again!

Our next stop was the local Stater Brothers in Rancho Cucamonga to buy 12 gallons of distilled water for our coolant change Tuesday.....I bought 12 gallons of the Power Cool concentrate, and to achieve the 50/50 mix required I need to mix it with 12 gallons of distilled water.  As luck would have it Stater Brothers was having a sale on distilled water at 99¢ per gallon....score!

From there we drove to my son, Chris' home to pick up some mail, and then headed for home in the still driving rain arriving safely home around 2:45 pm.....shortly after arriving home I discovered my printer cartridge error.  Oh well, while the Newell is in the shop Tuesday we can go and exchange it, and get the correct one.....the 'Hockwald Way' strikes again.

For our evening entertainment we caught up on some of our recorded shows such as Survivor, Black List, and Top Chef, and threw in a couple of episodes of 'Fraser' for good measure before heading off to dreamland.
