One last thing......

7:53 am - Monday - January 22nd - GNHS - 55° F, humidity 100%, wind 5 mph out of the southeast....heavy cloud cover with rain expected any minute now, and a forecast high of 59° F.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I were having a late lunch at Tony's Seafood Restaurant in Cedar Key, which included a bowl of their award winning Clam Chowder....best clam chowder I have ever had.....↴

.....and I think there was some Chardonnay, too....lol!

There was only one thing we had not yet done with our kids here at GNHS as we awoke Sunday morning....take a RZR ride.  The girls weren't too interested as it was cold, and it looked like rain, but the guys (Nick and Rod) as well as their kids (Jolene and Brayden) were, so I prepped two Generals for the ride....a 4 seat, and a 2 seat.  Nick and Jolene took the 2 seater, and Rod, Brayden and I the 4 seater.  We were off around 10 am heading north on the Coachella Canal road to Siphon 23, then west.....

Rod, Brayden, and I headin' out!

Made it safely to the Oasis

Rod took this picture of us standing on top of the Bat Caves rock formation with his 'fish eye' 360 camera....cool!

.....in all we covered about 25 miles of desert terrain, made stops at the Oasis and Bat Caves,  with no incidents.  Due to the rain the night before there was very little dust, and being a Sunday, there was no one else out there but us, which is always nice.  Everyone had a great time, and there was talk of returning in the next two months....cool.  We were back around 12 pm, and within 30 minutes we had bid our adieus until next time, the kids were on their way back to their workaday lives, I put away the two Generals, and TLE and I were enjoying the solitude of the SoCal desert once again.

sat down in my recliner to watch a couple of NFL playoff games, and TLE in her recliner to read.  The NFL games this day were closely fought affairs, and could have gone either way, but in the end Detroit topped Tampa Bay 31-23, and Kansas City beat Buffalo 27-24....the Buffalo place kicker missed a field goal, which would have tied the game, with one minute and fifty seconds to play, so yeah, it was close.  Next Sunday Detroit will play San Francisco for the right to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, and Kansas City will play Baltimore to represent the AFC.  Hard to believe another NFL/College football season is almost over....just three more games.

TLE and I continued watching the BritBox series entitled 'Lewis', and have now finished 8 of the 9 seasons.  This series follows the great series 'Morse' in the British town of Oxfordshire (the home of the Oxford colleges).  We both highly recommend each of these fine British productions!

Thanks for stopping by!
