7:56 am - Tuesday - April 15th - TWW - 59° F, humidity 31%, wind 8 out of the southeast....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies this morning with a forecast high of 77° F. On this date in 2015 Steven Dempsey (good friends Steven and Linda were visiting us) took this drone picture of Goosenecks State Park....
......we are in the lower left corner of the first picture....this shot really shows the 'entrenched meander' of the San Juan River.
There was almost no wind Monday morning, so TLE and I were out early to install the final 10 roof panels on the greenhouse. We had kind of developed a system Sunday when we installed the previous 4 panels, and were able to blast through the final 10 panels pretty quickly. We were in the process of installing the final two panels when we heard someone driving down our driveway. As I walked out to our entrance road I could see someone riding a quad ATV. He was an older gentleman. As he dismounted, he introduced himself as Tom....the guy who built out this property back in 2010....
.....now we can wrap it with Visqueen, and move our elevated growing tables inside!
We finished around 12 pm, took a break, then began the task of taking down our site in advance of our planned Sunday (April 20th) departure. We'll spend most of Tuesday finishing that task, and then Charles and Phyllis will return Wednesday for the balance of our stay. We'll move the Newell out of its site on Saturday, and back it up to the trailer so we can drop the trailer on the hitch. We'll leave mid morning Sunday for our drive back to Likely Place Golf and RV Resort hoping for an April 27th arrival.
Oh, by the way, our visitor, Tom, said he built the chicken coup for his homing pigeons back in 2010. One of the subsequent owners converted it to a chicken coup, which how we will use it in the future when we are here fulltime.
As of April 10th we have been here at TWW exactly six months. Upon reflection it does not seem that long, but then we look around the property at all we have accomplished it does seem that long. We've done a lot, but still have a ways to go. We will return next October knowing we now have a reliable power supply. We had a steep learning curve to get where we are today, and will be able to hit the ground running next Fall.
Thanks for stopping by!
