5:43 am - Wednesday - August 13th - LPG&RVR - 58° F, humidity 33%, wind 1 mph out of the southeast.....partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 93° F. On this date in 2013 TLE and I were in Poulson, MT....
.....at an RV park with a view of Flathead Lake.....took this picture from the salon driver side window as I was typing my blog.
We didn't get to bed until almost 2:20 am Tuesday morning, and only slept until 8 am. It just gets too light after that to sleep....as least for TLE and I. We could get 'blackout' curtains, but it is rare that we sleep past 8 am, unless we're working the night shift at Amazon, and we don't do that anymore. As you can tell, I didn't write my blog post about our flight home until after 6 pm Tuesday, as right after getting up I just sat drinking my coffee, and trying to clear my brain before heading into Alturas to do our weekly shopping.
We did finally get dressed just before 10 am, and in the VW on our way to town by 10 am. We stopped first at ACE Hardware to buy some shop towels....I'm almost out of them in the trailer...then over to Full Throttle to pick up our 16" Stihl chainsaw which had been serviced, and now runs much, much better. I was going to leave my 20" Stihl to have a service, and a new bar installed, but after examining it Ian decided all it needs is a new bar, and he believed ACE would have what I needed to fix it. I appreciate his honesty. The 16" only cost $115 to service. The new 20" bar, and chain cost less than $90.
From there we made our weekly stop at Dollar General, then over to Holiday Market for the bulk of our shopping. We were able to score quite a bit of beef on sale at half price because the 'Use By' date had come and gone. There were two packages of Filet Mignon, some Top Sirloin Steaks, and an Eye of Round Roast. All of that will go into our deep freeze until we decide to grill them.
Then it was back to ACE Hardware to buy a new 20" bar for the Stihl with a new chain, then back to Java Doc to get some Frappuccinos for the drive home. It was a hot day (98° F), and those Frappuccinos where just what the Java Doc ordered.
The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing and napping, but I did help Claude setup his new Starlink he purchased online less than a week ago, so now he has good, consistent internet, and can stream his favorite sports programs. We're so happy we came home on Monday so we could have Tuesday to unwind, and decompress from our wonderful family time, and now it's time to go begin our next four day work week. By the time we finish this current work stretch August will be over half gone, and it will be time to migrate southward once again.
Thanks for stopping by!
