7:35 am - Wednesday - August 20th - LPG&RVR - 54° F, humidity 26%, wind 1 mph out of the east by northeast.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 87° F. On this date in 2013 TLE and I were spending a month on the Spokane River.....
at River Walk RV Park near Coeur d'Alene, ID, and Lake Coeur d'Alene. The outflow of the Spokane River begins just past that bridge in the background.
Not much about which to write concerning Tuesday. The only productive thing I accomplished was the installation of the new 20" bar and chain on my Stihl Chainsaw, and then the successful pull start of same. I runs great, and the chain tracks perfectly now that I have the correct 20" bar. And that deserves a big shout out to Eric at ACE Hardware in Alturas, CA.
Other than that I spent the morning relaxing, napping, and smoking a cigar in my anti gravity chair on the 'lido deck' whilst TLE ran load after load of laundry through the splendid Splendide combo washer/dryer. In between loads she joined me on the 'lido deck'. Then sometime late morning/early afternoon (I'm not sure which) TLE walked down to Tom and Darlene's motorcoach to play another card game (not 'Phase 10') with Darlene, while Tom and I sat here on the 'lido deck' here at the Newell talking for a couple of hours.
Around 4:30 pm TLE and I headed down to Tom and Darlene's 40' Haulmark Super C, Freightliner based motorcoach to have Mango/Shrimp Curry over white rice for dinner....
.....I'm not a big curry fan, but I would have paid money to buy this dish in a restaurant. Very, very good! We talked until close to 7 pm before heading home for the night with smiles upon our collective faces.
The weather, even though the temp climbed to a high of 87° F, was actually quite pleasant Tuesday with soft balmy breezes making it 'feel' cooler than that. We will be entering a four day hot spell beginning with our first day back at work Thursday where we will see temps get as high as 98° F on Friday, then sliding back into the 80's by Monday. From that point forward we appear to be done with 90 degree temps, and will be back into the 70's by September 2nd. We now have just over 5 weeks left in our fourth summer sojourn here at LPG&RVR, and soon I will begin to form checklists in my head about what needs to be done before we haul anchor, and head south for the winter.
Thanks for stopping by!
