51*

The past week reminds of our time in Chelsea, Michigan.......every other day it rains.  As I write today, Sunday, it is only 51 degrees and drizzly.  Our hosts, Bob and Karen, are starting to think they will not have a summer, in the traditional sense of the word, here in Coupeville.  I'm inclined to agree, although I'm not complaining......every day I'm not hearing the hum our our roof air conditioning in the background is a good day.......no....a great day.

The promised picture of the new tool box!

Yesterday, Saturday, was the flipside of today......mostly sunny, and warmish.....okay, compared to today it was warmish.....mid 60's....even had the windows open for a while during the middle of the day.

Our hosts, Karen and Bob, taken after a great steak dinner!

We didn't do much Saturday.  I watched the British Open until 11:30am, and then headed back to the coach (the trees are blocking our satellite signal) to putter around, and then did some reading for the rest of the afternoon.  Elaine had bought some bacon wrapped filets the other day, and we decided to BBQ them Saturday night.  Served with baked stuffed tomatoes and mushroom, and squash.  Of course, Pinot Noir made an appearance.

Another great Coupeville sunset.....tide is WAY UP!

Today, Sunday, I opted to listen to the British open on XM radio....it was raining pretty hard and I didn't want to get all dressed up and walk down the hill in the rain.  The leader, Adam Scott, who after the 14th hole on the final round was 10 under par, and I believe 4, or 5 strokes ahead of the 2nd place player, proceeded to bogey the next 4 holes in succession, and the second place player, Ernie Els, birdied the 18th whole to win by a stroke....a very improbable win.  I feel for Adam Scott, but am always happy to see an older player snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.  I think Ernie was the only one in the top 10 under par today.

Afterward I continued reading my book,  while listening to the Siriusly Sinatra channel on satellite radio, and sipping hot tea.  As I continue to write I see a young buck deer feeding on the lawn between the coach and the house.  There is a lot of wild life on this property!

In about 15 minutes we'll walk down to the house for dinner with our hosts, and more interesting conversation.

Thanks for stopping by soggy Coupeville!
