I started my day as I usually do this time of year, watching the Tour d' France, and by the time I got back to the coach at 8:15am Elaine was awake. Due to a lot of trees surrounding our current parking spot which block our satellite feed I watch the Tour on our host's TV in their business office located at the back of their property so as not to disturb anyone's beauty sleep....:-). This Thursday the British Open Golf Tournament begins, so there will be a lot of TV watching for 4 days for me.
After 3 straight days of long walks we decided to do a little cross training today and got the tandem out for a 17 mile LOOP first heading south on Harrington Lagoon Road to Race Drive, across HWY 20 to Wanamaker down to the Coupeville Ferry, past Ebey Landing, past Fort Casey and over to the Coupleville waterfront area for lunch, then back to our "home". There were numerous uphills that put our legs into serious "burn" mode, and some screaming downhills. One uphill was over 10% grade......ouchie!
We stopped after 9 miles in front of Fort Casey for a break and got this view of the Olympic Mountains in the distance across Puget Sound.

The Regatta......
The day started out cloudy, but turned into a cloudless day by 11am when we left on our ride. It's supposed to stay like this through Wednesday, and then maybe rain again on Thursday. We're hoping to ride our road bikes over to the ferry tomorrow and take it Port Townsend for the day. For us senior citizens it's only $3.10 round trip per person.....now that is a cheap date!
Karen went back went back to work in Seattle this morning for the week, so Bob will be bachin' it with Elaine and I the rest of the week.
That was our day.....thanks for stopping by!
