A nice, lazy day.....

6:53 am - Monday - May 6th - Ramona, CA - 55° F, 83% humidity, wind - CALM......cloudy with a chance of rain today and a forecast high of 62° F.....the view this morning.....↴

Sunday was a day off work for us as I wrote yesterday.  I needed a haircut in the worst way, and there just happens to be a Supercuts in Ramona.  TLE had heard that Don's Market in Santa Ysabel (about 10 miles east on SR-78) had a good meat market, plus a farmer's market, so we headed first to Santa Ysabel (Ē-sabell) to check both of them out.   We left home around 12:15 pm and were in Santa Ysabel within 20 minutes.  As it turned out the farmer's market was a little short of sellers.....most of the booths there were selling flowers, so we decided not to stop and go directly to Don's Market.....

.....Santa Ysabel lies at the intersection of SR-78 and SR-79.  In the background is the original country store built back in 1878......hang a right here and you arrive at Don's Market.....↴

.....they do, indeed, have a good meat market, and TLE scooped up a couple of filet mignons to grill, some bacon, and a few other items.  In addition to Don's Market there is Julian Pie Company, Dudley's Bakery, and Apple Country Restaurant.  From there we headed 15 miles back to Ramona, and Supercuts.  While I went in to get my ears lowered, TLE went into State Bros. to get a few items.  I had no reservation, and expected to have to wait a while, but sometimes you get lucky.....when I entered Supercuts there was no one getting a haircut, so I was able to sit right down.  Within 5 minutes every chair was filled again!  Just about the time my haircut was finished TLE arrived and we were on our way back home.

By this time I was ready for a nap, and that is what I did.  We watched a couple of recorded English Premier soccer matches over the course of the afternoon, and I spent a little time doing stuff in the garage (trailer).  By 5:30 pm the Sea-B-Que was lit, and by 6 pm we had two medium rare filet mignons with a side of asparagus topped with hollandaise sauce.....yum!

Back to work on Monday for three days, and then I am off for about 5 days to have my cataract surgery.....thanks for stopping by!
