Breakfast ride.....

7:42 am - Monday - November 8th - Fontana, CA - 50° F, 78° F, wind 2 mph out of the southeast......crystal, clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 73° F.  On this date in 2015 we were at Schat's Bakery in Bishop, CA......↴

We did something Sunday morning we haven't done in a long time, in fact, we did two somethings we haven't done in a long time....first, we watched an entire Premier League soccer match (Tottenham vs. Everton) from beginning to end.  The game ended in a draw, but it was a very well played match.  Secondly, we road our bikes to a late breakfast at a local Starbucks....

.....and we rode a long way....at least a long way for us lately....over 7 miles out on the PET*, and over 7 miles back.  Regrettably, the service at this Starbucks (not the food) stank....we waited 15 minutes in a short line (just two ahead of us) to place our order (2 frappuccinos, 1 breakfast sandwich, and 1 scone).  We received the items one at a time over 30 minutes....the final item, TLE's frappuccino, came a full 15 minutes after the first three items.  It was not super busy inside the store, however, they just seemed incredibly disorganized.   Apparently this was not just a bad day for them, but, rather, the norm at this location.  Later on, after we had returned home, we looked up reviews on this store, and found poor, slow service to be the norm.  In all the years we have been frequenting Starbucks all across this country, this is the first time we have had such poor service.  Sure, there have been times when a store was incredibly busy, and we expected to wait a little, but we always received our orders (everything at the same time) within 10 minutes.   All that being said, both of our frappuccinos (Mocha for moi, and Vanilla Bean for TLE), the breakfast sandwich, and scone were great, so no complaints about the product, just the service.

We had left on our ride close to 11 am, and returned home just before 1 pm.  The temp never rose above 72° F all day, and the long ride out and back was the highpoint of Sunday.  We did watch the two hour season premier of Yellowstone (we recorded it, and watched it commercial free), and loved it.  Monday it will be back to work sorting out the trailer, and parrying down what we keep in there......after, of course, a walk on the PET*.

Thanks for stopping by!
