7:23 am - Saturday - November 13th - Fontana, CA - 64° F, 27% humidity, wind 4 mph out of the north by northeast......clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 91° F. On this date in 2015 TLE and I were walking in the surf near Ventura, CA......↴
The Santa Ana winds were still blowing out of the high desert country to the north Friday morning with the promise of another hot day, so I got to work in the trailer installing the new bracket on which our beach chairs will reside when in transit......
.....it didn't take long, and within 30 minutes the new bracket was installed with the two beach chairs secured in place.....
......and with that task done, there are only a few maintenance related things left to do before we leave the Fontana/Rialto Elks Lodge for the Riverside Elks Lodge, and then out to the desert for 4, or 5 weeks.
Every Friday evening the Fontana/Rialto Elks Lodge hosts a dinner for its members, and this Friday was Cordon Bleu Chicken with mashed potatoes, salad and veggies. This is a very popular menu item, and the lodge is usually packed when it is served. You must RSVP to attend the dinners so they know how many plates to make up for the evening, so we RSVP'd to Maureen, the RV hostess, on Tuesday. We walked over to the Lodge entrance around 4:30 pm for dinner, and it was as packed as we expected. The dinner, drinks, and conversation was great as always.
